I use these anchors/swing brackets for a swing set that I built my children this year. These are rock solid I am 44 years old and a large man and I can swing on it no issue. Using all the included hardware was great simple and easy. I went with kiln dried wood from a local lumber yard and had no issues with warped/twisted or swollen wood. These are solid and make for an easy custom swing setup. I paired mine with the 90 degree bracket to connect two 8' 4x6. Only thing is to double check fitment because the 4×6 boards I bought were a super tight fit. Had to hammer the crap out of the beams to get them in. In hindsight I probably would have sanded off about 1/8 of an inch and made it easier on myself. After reading the reviews, I ordered the three piece set of brackets. I have to say, the installation went just as everyone said especially the part where we reduced the ends of the beams to the actual size of the brackets, as suggested. Otherwise it could have taken several more hours just trying to insert them. Now we have a very sturdy, and beautiful swing set that my 4 grandsons just loved. The brackets worked great for the most part. I wanted a 10 foot high swing, so I got 12 foot lumber for the legs and a 10 foot cross piece. All the hardware was included and it went together pretty well. Very sturdy when everything was assembled. My only complaint is one of the brackets was bent a little, so I had to trim down a leg so it would fit. I ended up needing to trim 2 of the 4 legs to get them to fit, all the legs were very tight and took some muscle to get them in place, which was awkward when dealing with a 12 foot 4x4. When assembled this is HEAVY, have at least 2 people ready to stand it up when you are done. Finished swings et is great and I'd do this again if I ever need another swingset. ... show more

The brackets are heavy-duty and well made. The lag bolts are heavy-duty, also. For the top beam, I used a treated 4" x 6" x 10' piece of yellow pine. It was a very tight fit... and I used a small, hand-held planer to shave off a little wood on the ends of the beam. A rubber mallet then helped get the brackets on.
