  • What I wish they had told me
Size: 169 fl.oz.
Purchased this product on the recommendation of a colleague who knew I was getting tired of pulling weeds on my gravel driveway. She uses it on her garden mulch to stop weeds. Works for her, great. I have larger gravel rocks in the driveway. It sort of worked to hold them in place, not really. I suppose if the driveway had the smaller gravel rocks, this would be much more appropriate. Next is the cost. This stuff is really expensive. Anyone with a normal size gravel driveway is going to pay a fortune each year to apply this stuff. In addition, I shoot for quality, so to get a better outcome, I feel like you're going to want to apply this stuff, wait 3 or 4 days and then apply again. That's double the cost. Other than that, this stuff was pretty easy to apply. Literally, dump the jug into a watering can or pressure sprayer and you're on your way. No complaints there. BUT BE FOREWARNED: Ahead of application, I googled everywhere about how to clean my pressure sprayer afterward. Nothing. No comments on the website. Their youtube official product videos say its safe for pressure sprayers. Totally intentionally misleading. This is criminal. I have an expensive pressure sprayer. This ruined my pressure sprayer. The liquid quickly congeals inside the pressure sprayer filter, all the tubing and inside the handle bits. I took me 4 hours to disassemble my pressure washer, go to the store to buy brushes, hangers, and other items to then start snaking out or clean every component of my pressure sprayer that this thing clogged inside of. It wasted my day and another $40. There's no guidance online to explain safe ways to break down the clogs. Nothing. In sum, the pressure spray works better than watering can. If you use a watering can, get a cheap one with a removable top that you can unclog the pores after. You'll probably need to peel the film off the inside of the can too if you're not a fan of that. If you use a pressure sprayer, get a small handheld one that doesn't have an external hose so that you only need to snake out the internal straw and internal bits. I found one at Lowes for $8. Don't plan on being able to cover your entire driveway as this covers like 1 or 2 square meters of driveway per $65 tub. Plan on 2 coats, so double the price. Use with smaller gravel, it should do a really nice job. Hope that's helpful. Wish one of these reviews had laid out this info before I purchased. ... show more

  • Much to Consider
Size: 169 fl.oz.
Good products and good information on binding pea gravel for a pathway or patio are hard to find. Not knowing all the details and considerations for such a job, I used this to bind 3/8" rounded gravel for a fire pit area. Cheap sprinkling can with a rapid, even swinging action gave the best amount and coverage. Coated a two foot strip at a time , then tamped and troweled with a home made wooden trowel. Came out nice, but only later read that it's not suitable for frequent foot traffic or lawn furniture. When dried, it held the gravel together, but you could feel it would flex a slight bit under a heavy step. Had to top coat it with a hard, clear two part epoxy called 300/21 from a marine coatings company in Easton, Pa., using a heavy nap roller. Unfortunately, that product is not UV protected. Sooo, had to roller a topcoat on that product with water based spar varnish that has good UV protection. Conclusion after all that: For an area that you're going to do more than look at, the best method is to mix gravel with just enough of a two part epoxy to coat it, pour it in place then screed, tamp, and trowel, to about 2" thick. When fully cured, topcoat with spar varnish using a roller. The only good thing the Easyhold did was hold the gravel together enough to allow roller application of the epoxy without too much gravel sticking to the roller. ... show more

  • Just ok
Size: 169 fl.oz.
The product probably works better in a total non foot traffic area. I used it to harden the pea gravel I used for my diy paver patio. It definitely hardened them and was very nice but for the price I was expecting it to adhere longer than it did. I know the instructions state to mix the product with your pea gravel after you’ve washed and dried them, (especially if there’s depth) but I had already poured them down and didn’t want to sift them out and re-do all of that. I discovered this product after the fact. All in all it’s pretty good and I would recommend it. If you’re looking for something to harden your garden rocks or pea gravel just know you’re going to need a lot more than one container if you have a large area or a bit of depth to your pea gravel. Be sure to mix them with the product before pouring or laying them down abba after you’ve rinsed them and allowed them to fully dry so that you might have better luck. Follow the instructions!! ... show more

  • Great product
Size: 169 fl.oz.
I didn’t realize when I bought this, that it was ready to use. So I was pumped when I read the instructions and realized I didn’t need to mix it. That said, I applied it to my raised garden bed walkway in July. All the pea gravel has stayed right in place. The walkway is firm, and stable. It’s nearing the end of October now, and I haven’t lost any pea gravel. Weeds are not growing in the gravel. I look forward to updating my review in March/April time frame when winter has passed. ... show more

Nothing/ Holding gravel and munch in placed

First let me say, I did NOT follow the directions. We knew that we were attempting to use this product not as described! We have a loose gravel pad under a Maple tree that is difficult to get leaves and propeller seeds off of in the fall. You can’t blow it off without the gravel flying everywhere. Insert genius idea to add mulch glue. After trying another brand first with little success we thought we would give this a try. GENIUS! We simply sprayed it on the gravel area with a weed sprayer and it worked. The gravel does NOT move. Side benefit is that we can walk on it and it doesn’t move, we can drive our garden cart over it much easier and the gravel doesn’t move! We will be adding another layer before winter and probably renew each fall. Love this stuff!!! ... show more
