Description

It’s been 20 years since the events of the original game. The virus won, and humanity is slowly dying. You play as Aiden Caldwell, a wandering Pilgrim who delivers goods, brings news, and connects the few remaining survivor settlements in barren lands devastated by the zombie virus. However, your true goal is to find your little sister Mia, who you left behind as a kid to escape Dr. Waltz's torturous experiments. Haunted by the past, you eventually make the decision to confront it when you learn that Mia may still be alive in Villedor — the last city standing on Earth.

  • PURE AWESOMENESS XBOX VERSION!!!
Platform For Display: Xbox Series X Edition: Standard
In 2015 Dying Light blew me away. The gameplay, music, story and atmosphere were all great. Fast forward to 2022 and DL1 still plays great but it would be nice to have some progression?? Little change never hurt huh? A little variety? Now I do think that DL and State of Decay 2 are the greatest Zombie games ever made, but with Dying Light 2 we get another entry on that short list. The graphics look excellent and the frame rate is smooth after Techland released the latest patch for the Xbox Series X. VRR with at least 60 FPS throughout? That will do just fine. The combat is so weighty and beefy in this game. Techland made the decision to pretty much eliminate firearms this time and I’m glad. This is about melee combat baby! Brutal sounds of metal hitting metal “CLANK!” or wood or flesh! We get a blocking mechanic as well now.. not just the dodging and throwing maneuvering of the first game. The longer you play and the more you try, the more this game rewards you just like DL1, and you meet some provocative and shady characters along the way. What’s not to like? If you like large maps, free roam, substantial, weighty & brutal combat, a meandering and interesting story with an ominous soundtrack to back it all up, then this game is for you. Oh and yes.. it is creepy just like DL1! Good creepy fun! Enough said. ... show more

  • Zombie Bashing
Platform For Display: Xbox Series X Edition: Standard
Dead Island 2 is never going to happen even though I'm still holding out hope. Dying Light 2 was a no-brainer while we all patiently wait another decade for Dead Island 2. The parkour and combat is actually really fun in this game. It's easy to forget there's a story while you're off hacking away at Larry and jumping off cars to dropkick Sally back to the local deli. The only annoyance is the servers with multiplayer. Once players randomly get dropped/disconnected, even though internet is stronger than an Ox, it's a dreadful game of quitting and restarting to have to boys back in town. Overall, I really like the game. It looks and plays great. What may seem like a small downside adds up over time... Why did they get rid of weapon repairs and the ability to throw destroyed weapons? It gives little to no incentive to mod weapons knowing they're not going to last very long before you replace it with a dinky table leg. ... show more

  • Avery good game
Platform For Display: Xbox Series X Edition: Standard
I did not play the first game but this was a very good game. I was not a huge fan of the mainly parkour based skill set as sometimes the parkour could be frustrating at least for me. Then again who doesn’t love mashing zombies

  • Great
Platform For Display: Xbox Series X Edition: Standard
One of the best games I have played in a long time. Great graphics. Even good performance on Xbox One. Also, I have seen the complaints about there not being guns. I was concerned that that would take away from the game (being a fan of the first one). However, I didn't find that it took away from my experience. ... show more

  • Disappointing for a sequel
Platform For Display: Xbox Series X Edition: Standard
Pros: This game is fun and the combat and moving around is very fluid and doesn’t feel clunky or choppy at all. It is a blast running around and traversing buildings and different obstacles. It is also a lot of fun taking on hordes of different zombies. The main story line seemed good to me and the missions were enjoyable. Cons: This game feels like a downgrade compared to the first one. They took out guns which was a huge let down and it just feels simpler. It’s less enjoyable and gets boring and repetitive quicker than it should have. The DLC wasn’t very good either compared to the DLC from the first game. I don't think the DLC was worth the $10. The DLC from the first game almost felt like it could have been a stand alone game because of how good it was and how much extra play time it added. This DLC didn’t feel very thought out and honestly wasn’t worth my time. Overall, if I never played the first Dying Light then I may have given this game 4 stars, but since I have, I am only giving it 3. I would still recommend picking it up if you never played the series and can get it for cheap though. Just don’t expect it to be one of the best games you’ve ever played. ... show more

  • Love this game!
Platform For Display: Xbox Series X Edition: Standard
This game is awesome! I really liked the first Dying Light but they really made an even better game the second time! The game play is long and varied. I love when there's lots to do on a game so I feel accomplished when I do finish it. The open world is great and I love the side missions! Seriously have nothing negative to say! It's one of my top 5 favorite games of all time! ... show more
