  • Like I remember from my days working in a commercial kitchen.

UPDATE: I wanted to follow up after my initial review. I don't review products often. I got this set as I was previous cook in a commercial kitchen and wanted a quality relative at home as I cook often. I have had these for over a year now, and with the COVID pandemic, I have been cooking even more than usual as it's not just a hobby, but a passion. These pots are ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! After years, these posts have withstood a beating without any issues with the construction. I have cooked anything and everything in these and they are still like brand new. They still cook evenly and at the same temperature as expected. If anyone is experiencing color changes and/or spots, this is 100% normal. These pots are made to withstand elements and heat, maybe occasional burn marks. The good thing is, they are indestructible. Take some barkeeper's friend and polish them to bring them back to brand new. Wash them promptly after each use, dry them quickly and please "DON'T SET THE HEAT TOO HIGH". These distribute heat more than you would think. I never boil water more than an 8/10 setting on my stove. This is more than enough to get the job done. I am more than happy with this set, and will most definitely buy another set when the time comes (if it ever comes as solid as these are). ORIGINAL REVIEW: So far, the build quality is excellent. I haven't used all pieces as of yet and will update later. I absolutely love the flat bottom and heat distribution. It has been years since I have used quality stainless steel pots and pans and they do require a bit of care and know-how, but are well worth it. The price for this set seems like a steal. I was very skeptical because of that. But after unpacking these guys, and firing up for the first time, I feel like I'm back in a commercial kitchen, (even though I have an electric flat top stove). The first thing I noticed was the boil was even... 100% even! Then I wanted to test a little bit and purposely charred the sides and let my 11 year old cook eggs in thee small fry pan. Bar Keeper's Friend made that disappear like they were straight out of the package again. Those were the only times I had to use anything except basic Dawn detergent and sponge. These things are built to last! I absolutely would recommend this set to anyone tired of the "non-stick" Wal-Mart specials that might give you a year before you realize you are eating the coating. If you are on the fence and would like to know if spending the money is worth it... let me tell you. These are worth every penny and then some! Just make sure you give them TLC as they are build to last, not a gimmick egg in a pan with no seasoning or coating. 100% recommend. Just know, a little effort is necessary to keep them as beautiful as you want them to be. Would buy again in a heartbeat! ... show more

  • Update: Duxtop Professional Stainless-steel 17 piece cookware set was a great choice! I love them!

The package was delivered on time. All items were well packaged and arrived in pristine condition. The first pot that I used was the l.6-quart to make some kale. The kale turned out tender and tasty. My next adventure was to make my broth for Matzo Ball soup in the 8.6-quart stock pot. I boiled my Matzo Balls in the 5.5-quart sautΓ© pan. I did nothing different in the way that I made my broth, other than to use my new stock pot. My son commented that the broth tasted even better than usual. I used the 2.5-quart sauce pan to make long grain rice to make a casserole with the chicken and vegetables that I used to make the broth for the Matzo Ball soup. The rice turned out perfectly! It was moist and did not stick to the pan. I used the 4.2-quart casserole to make rutabaga, turnips, and parsnips. These veggies turned out tender and delicious. I made eggs for my husband, myself, and my dog and they were delectable. I had no problem with them sticking to the pan. I used to make our salmon, talapia, and other fish in the oven. No longer! I now make them in the fry pan and the fish comes out fantastic! The flavor is sealed in and I use very little oil. Nothing sticks to the pan and again, clean up is easy. We do not eat meat or poultry, so I can not speak about making these foods. I have noticed the discoloration on the inside of the cookware after use that has been mentioned in several previous customer ratings regarding this cookware. As has been repeatedly stated, this is easily removed with Bar Keeper’s Friend. This discoloration seems to only appear when I boil water in the pan, which makes me believe that perhaps it is some kind of reaction with the mineral content in my water and the stainless steel in the pan. Oh, and the steamer basket and the pasta basket are very useful. I couldn't be happier with my Duxtop Professional Stainless-steel cookware set! I have had virtually no problem with food sticking to any of the cookware. Cleanup has been a breeze. The handles on the pans are extremely comfortable and do not get hot. The handles on the lids can get hot, so be careful. The lids seem to have a nice tight seal when cooking and appear to be well made. They are not flimsy. The pots and pans have a good weight and balance to them, appear to be well constructed, and heat up evenly. Every piece of this cookware set sits perfectly flat on my ceramic top stove. The various sizes of pots and pans are appropriate for home use. However, keep in mind that I am not a gourmet cook. Although, not a determining factor in my decision to purchase this set, the 3-piece kitchen tool set is nice and useful. As far as the appearance of this cookware set . . . very attractive and impressive! I really have no complaints thus far and would recommend this cookware set to my friends. I’m pleased with the results after cooking with this cookware, I like the looks of the cookware set, I’m enjoying the ease of cleanup after meals, I like the comfort handles on the pans, and am impressed with the quality and price of the set. ... show more

  • Great value!

Had these for about a month. Very pleased with the cost/performance ratio of this product. I am nowhere close to a professional chef, but I do appreciate nice things. These pans seem to heat evenly, and cook nicely on my mid-range consumer gas stove. Handles stay reasonably cool too. Lids are nice enough and fit well. Pans clean-up nicely with bartender's friend scouring powder, though the measuring markings on the deeper pans are already starting to fade (would be nice if they were engraved rather than silk-screened, but that is a minor issue). Scouring is necessary if you want to keep them shiny on the outside, and keep stuff from sticking to the inside. It is a little extra effort over teflon, but not much, and is otherwise worth the effort, and probably better than ingesting teflon (I don't care how "tough" manufacturers claim or how careful I am, I have never had a non-stick pan that did not eventually get scratched). Pans are heavy (we were used to aluminum/teflon ones) but I think that is why they heat so evenly. Finally, though I don't currently have an induction cooktop, I am interested in this technology. Perhaps I will eventually buy a single burner hob for special purposes such as boiling a big pot of water quickly. With this cookware, I will be all set. At the end of the day, this feels very professional to us, we love using metal utensils again, and are very happy with the purchase. ... show more
