  • Like I remember from my days working in a commercial kitchen.

UPDATE: I wanted to follow up after my initial review. I don't review products often. I got this set as I was previous cook in a commercial kitchen and wanted a quality relative at home as I cook often. I have had these for over a year now, and with the COVID pandemic, I have been cooking even more than usual as it's not just a hobby, but a passion. These pots are ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! After years, these posts have withstood a beating without any issues with the construction. I have cooked anything and everything in these and they are still like brand new. They still cook evenly and at the same temperature as expected. If anyone is experiencing color changes and/or spots, this is 100% normal. These pots are made to withstand elements and heat, maybe occasional burn marks. The good thing is, they are indestructible. Take some barkeeper's friend and polish them to bring them back to brand new. Wash them promptly after each use, dry them quickly and please "DON'T SET THE HEAT TOO HIGH". These distribute heat more than you would think. I never boil water more than an 8/10 setting on my stove. This is more than enough to get the job done. I am more than happy with this set, and will most definitely buy another set when the time comes (if it ever comes as solid as these are). ORIGINAL REVIEW: So far, the build quality is excellent. I haven't used all pieces as of yet and will update later. I absolutely love the flat bottom and heat distribution. It has been years since I have used quality stainless steel pots and pans and they do require a bit of care and know-how, but are well worth it. The price for this set seems like a steal. I was very skeptical because of that. But after unpacking these guys, and firing up for the first time, I feel like I'm back in a commercial kitchen, (even though I have an electric flat top stove). The first thing I noticed was the boil was even... 100% even! Then I wanted to test a little bit and purposely charred the sides and let my 11 year old cook eggs in thee small fry pan. Bar Keeper's Friend made that disappear like they were straight out of the package again. Those were the only times I had to use anything except basic Dawn detergent and sponge. These things are built to last! I absolutely would recommend this set to anyone tired of the "non-stick" Wal-Mart specials that might give you a year before you realize you are eating the coating. If you are on the fence and would like to know if spending the money is worth it... let me tell you. These are worth every penny and then some! Just make sure you give them TLC as they are build to last, not a gimmick egg in a pan with no seasoning or coating. 100% recommend. Just know, a little effort is necessary to keep them as beautiful as you want them to be. Would buy again in a heartbeat! ... show more

  • VERY Nice Cookware!
Number of Items: 1
My new house came with a high-end induction range, so I had to give up the top-drawer (but non-magnetic) stainless cookware I'd been using and abusing for 25 years (it still looked brand-new). So I have been learning induction cooking and this new cookware at the same time, somewhat resentfully. After a couple months, I love 'em both -- stove and cookware. The reviews are correct, this is a very nice, very solid set of pots & pans, and it performs extremely well on an induction cooktop. My burners have a sort of turbocharge setting for bringing water to a boil, and these pans respond like champs to it. That's the one time I've heard a tiny bit of singing from them -- and I live in the country, where there's not a lot of ambient noise. This is where my one criticism of these pans comes in, though -- there's something about the combination of the pans' proportions and the way their lids fit that makes them prone to rather dramatic sudden boil-overs, even when they're not terribly full. I've just learned to listen closely when I've got a pan on the supercharger -- when I hear it start to bubble, I'm there in a flash, turning the heat down. Aside from that one quirk, these pans just do what you ask them to do -- the highest praise I can give a tool. They store pretty much like my beloved old set -- frying pans nest within each other, the small handled saucepan (with its lid) fits inside the larger one & lid, the inserts store inside the large kettle& lid, and I store the dutch oven solo, though the saucepans might fit inside it. A tip: I bought an assortment of inexpensive silicone lids for microwaving on amazon last year, which turn out to be great for all uses, including stovetop -- that gives the largest fry pan a lid, and the silicone actually makes an air-tight seal wherever you use it. If your cooking experience is all on nonstick, you will need to learn a new way of cooking to use stainless -- lower heats, learning to wait for a crust to form when you sear, keeping your omelet moving like Julia teaches. It's not hard -- I've been using plain stainless for many years now, washing after every use, and never have a problem with things sticking. If anything, these Duxtop pans hang onto food a little less than my dear old set did. Agree with the other reviewer -- the packaging on this set is amazing, and all done with well-engineered cardboard. ... show more
