This is a piece of junk. Components are cheap plastic and the connector will not fit a standard (gas grill) propane tank. If you purchase this, you will have to purchase an adapter to make it work. The heat guards fall off and are cheap. You would be better off keeping warm by making a fire with the $ you would spend on this. ... show more

My wife ordered this in a pinch, because it had same day delivery and we needed it this last weekend for a very cold outdoor tournament. I went and read the reviews of this model and was instantly skeptical, since people seemed to have the same complaints, and had given it such poor ratings. We decided to try it out anyhow, and it worked like a peach. Easy to install on the tank, easy to light and easy to operate. It was a slightly breezy day, and it didn't blow out once. For part of the day, the breeze was blowing directly toward it, and still, it stayed lit. We moved it to the dugout to provide the girls (and the coaches) some warmth and it worked as advertised. Went through about a half a tank of propane in the span of seven hours, and completely saved us from some serious misery. I would likely recommend this to someone else if they asked. I will come back and update the review as needed, since we have several more cold weather outings before the decent weather hits... ... show more

TERRIBLE PRODUCT: I never write reviews this is my first one but this is the worst item ever… Almost impossible to screw on the connecting bar for your propane tank but that’s not the worst thing… The worst thing is you need fingers/thumbs of steel to keep the igniter pressed in for 30 or more seconds to turn the product on and then if you want to turn down the adjustment from high to medium or low that does not work...STAY AWAY From this piece of junk ... show more

Unfortunately this heater doesn’t stay lit long term. There is a problem with the safety mechanism. I used the dura heater version of this heater 5 times, after that it stopped working. I tried everything to get it working but it would not stay lit. I had to buy the MR. Heater version recently. It stays lit. I would say it’s not as sturdy, but it stays lit. I wish someone from Dura Heat would have been able to explain how their product worked. I’m an engineer, I felt like I was talking to a sales manager every time a called their technical service center. They should be able to explain how their safety valves work. ... show more

Although the box didn't appear to have much damage, the "tilt" switch was broken. After examining how it operated, I was able to put it back together with some epoxy (I figured that was less hassle than trying to send it back). When trying to light the second burner, the first one will go out like it's not getting enough gas (full tank of propane). In Amazon"s infinite wisdom, they shipped it USPS, & of course the rural mail carrier isn't going to haul it around in their small car. So I ended up getting someone to pick it up from the post office which extended the delivery time by 3 days. I've had other heaters of this style over the years, but I'm very disappointed in this one. The first tank top heater I had was a "Mr. Heater" & it served me well for many years. ... show more

    • DO NOT BUY THIS!!!
If you do buy it, DO NOT LEAVE IT UNATTENDED!!! I had this heater abut a year. In that time, it usually worked fine. Then all of a sudden, it started making a loud noise and getting extremely hot on the back covers. The flame was burning inside the housing rather than on the steel mesh! The covers were glowing red!!! It melted the tipover shutoff on both burners. I was afraid if I hadn't realized what was going on, it would have melted the covers and set my garage on fire! It was out of warranty so no return, but I never used it again. The last heater I used was over 10 years old. I only replaced it because it was a single head though and I wanted a dual. ... show more

    • works well, though a little hard to light
once lit, works fine. heats my 1000 sq ft garage from 50 to 65 degrees in just a couple hours on low. my only issue is that you have to hold the button in to light, and until the element heats up. the only leverage you can get for your hand to squeeze the button is on the other end where some electronic do hickey resides. i know one day, if I am not careful, I am going to break off one of those wires. also, its much easier to light with a long gas filled fireplace lighter. the hold provided puts you in a weird contortion when you try to hold the match in the hold and squeeze the button til it lights. but overall, a good product. ... show more
