  • Good string if you like nickel.
It's nice that Dunlop makes these gauges now. So easy on the wrist and fingers. I bought these and the stainless steel. These are good but I'm just not a nickel string fan. I gave them their chance though. For those of you who enjoy nickel strings over stainless steel, these are worth checking out. So the stars I gave it does not reflect whether it's a good string or not. It's great. It's just not my cup of tea over their stainless steel strings. Try them! ... show more

  • bad strings
I don’t know if we got a bad set (guess it’s possible) but these strings sounded horrible and we couldn’t get them tuned without them breaking.

  • Great sound and feel
I expected more out this string based on reviews. Great sound and feel, but very hard to intonate accurately. I took 3 sets of these to a tech for a professional set-up on my different basses. He was not impressed either. These are definitely lower tension strings, but are not consistent string to string. Installed on a vintage Fender Jazz, butI immediately replaced them due to problems intonating. The bass was set-up perfectly with D'Addarios, but I've used DR and Kalium strings with better results in the past. For a long lasting and low tension string that intonates accurately I recommend Kalium (formerly Circle K) strings (balanced and traditional sets) ... show more

  • Bright, but not long lasting.
First off, these strings sound really good. Bright for nickles. They die off fast though. I get way more longevity out of DR Pure Blues, and those sound fantastic as well.

  • Dead Strings
I buy my strings 2-3 months in advance so I know I will always have spares in storage as and when I need them. I usually play DR HI Beams but had heard good things regarding the Dunlop Brights so purchased a pack to test a couple of months ago. Today, I fancied a string change and trying something different so opened up the Dunlops and slapped them on one of my basses only to find they were totally dead. Lifeless, toneless and feel like garbage compared to my usual DR's or even Ernie Ball nickels that I use on another bass. I won't be buying these again. ... show more

  • Very Pleased
My first use of a nickel string. Have used these for 2 weeks now. Nicely balanced. Like the clarity of the E string. Initially was taken back by the lack of a colored cloth winding but hey, a great string for the price. Can't comment on how long they will last.

  • Nice set of strings..
Nice bright, punchy tone. Strings are not grabby and are pretty smooth. First time trying out a thinner gauge and I think I like them. Only con would be that they don't handle down tuning well, which is to be expected.
