  • A simple and clean introduction to DnD
A simple, clean and cute gateway game to introduce someone you know to DnD. No longer than it should be. Probably 3 to 6 sessions for the whole game. Not replayable by the same people, but very easy to keep clean and pass on to friends for them to enjoy after you (no legacy-type modifications or destruction). Me (veteran ttrpg player) and my wife (zero ttrpg experience) had an unexpected amount of fun! ... show more

  • An excellent game night activity
I purchased this for my wife and I to play on a date night game night, and it was wonderful. I loved the D&D theming of all the interactions (we're both huge D&D nerds), and the story behind the game was actually quite good! It felt just like a published adventure. I only wish there were more games like this to purchase! We'd love to have some more games to play through. A few of the puzzles were a little obtuse for a bit, but I really appreciated the challenge of having to figure out what sort of mindset I needed to be in to solve them. The combat can also be a little overwhelming for two players if you take it too seriously; however, I really liked the added random element of dice rolls and fighting. It felt much more like a D&D game than a simple escape room with D&D themed cards. ... show more

  • LOVE THIS GAME. If you’re on the fence, buy it!
We’ve played one of three scenarios thus far and had SO much fun! If you like D&D (or any role playing games) and also like escape rooms (or board game versions of them, like EXIT Games), this is a no brainer. Super duper fun for my husband and me, and we’re in our late 30s/early 40s. But could also easily see 12 year olds having a blast. I especially like that you can pass it on to someone else to enjoy once you’re done (as you don’t have to rip up or write on any cards). 10/10! ... show more

  • Fun Game - Not to Hard
My fiancé and I bought this game for a board game weekend. This game was fun - however it did get repetitive with only 2 people. I would recommend having 4+ people to make the game more complicated - was a bit too easy for us.

  • Fun intro to dnd concepts
I played call to adventure and thought that was a good intro to dnd. I bought this because it seemed like a good next step to introduce someone to the concepts in dnd like role playing and battle mechanics. Overall it's been a lot of fun. I set this up for brunch and it was the perfect game. The story is well written and the rules are simple enough. The puzzles were fun and everyone had fun. It's a good buy for someone that is thinking about getting into dnd. It took 2 hours for the first act. I don't see much replayability since once you solve it the answers don't change ... show more

  • Great fun for lovers of both D&D and escape games
We've been playing D&D together since the 90's, and we've been trying out table top escape games over the last couple of years. "Bedlam" isn't true D&D and it's only partially an escape game. What it turned out to be was a very fun mash up and unique playing experience. The difficulty rating on the box said it was a 4 out of 5, but it's easier than that. I think we only needed a clarifying hint twice. I would rate the difficulty more at a 2-3. The real challenge ends up being the dice-driven battles the characters must win to progress in the story. There is a well balanced fight system that they've put together for the game that adds an exciting random element. The story is broken up into three separate parts and we played one each day over a long weekend. It was a great time. Role playing fans won't find an abundance of chances to interact in character any more than puzzle fans will be confounded by head-scratchers, but everyone is going to have a good time with this game. One piece of advice: if there are only two people playing, consider each player controlling two characters for an adventuring party of four. The game will flow a little better and you'll have more of a chance surviving battles. ... show more

  • Good starter D&D
Got this for my 4th grader who has started doing D&D at the local gaming shop. He enjoyed it! Nice story and easy to dive in with little experience. We played it with the max party size of 6 of us so it was pretty easy. Would be more challenging with a smaller group. Potentially limited replayability because the puzzles add nice twists and once they are solved you know them but worth the price nonetheless. I'd say this is great for older gradeschoolers or middle schoolers interested in D&D. ... show more
