We just rebuilt our backyard shed and added another four feet of space to it. We needed and outside light and an interior light which needed different operating options. This product connected to the same solar panel and allowed us the setup different operating options. The inside light needed to turn on when we entered to shed and the outside light needed to turn on after sundown. Once we read through the instructions and using the remote control it took only a few minutes to setup the operations of both lights. Each light can be setup to be on for different amount of time (25seconds to 45 seconds). The motion sensor works great there is no need to use a remote to turn them on or off. I did the installation and my contractor I use for work around the house was impressed with the look and operation of the lights. This is a great product for a low price!!!! The only down side is the instruction manual type is too small for my old eyes. I had to use a flashlight to illuminate the text in order to read the text. I've had tehm install for over a week now and they work and look great. ... show more

This is an easy to install and use light. Very bright! I use it in a small shed but it could light up a much larger space. The solar seems to work, even on a gray day. I love that the motion sensor is sensitive. When I open the door to the shed the light comes right on. I've had many motion sensor lights that you had to wave your arm off to get to come on, but not this one. Comes with a remote control that you need to keep track of, but I just hung it on the wall so it couldn't get misplaced. We love this little light! We have two. Currently, they are being used to light both inside and outside a shed that has no electricity. Here's what I love about them: 1. Super easy to set up. Follow the instructions and let the battery charge all day having turned the light on manually.. 2. Easy to program using the remote. I figured out that I had to use the remote to turn the light off, wait a few seconds, turn the light back on using the remote, and then select the mode, time and brightness of the light. Boom! Worked perfectly! 3. The motion sensor of both lights works as expected. They stay on with ongoing movement, and if they go out, a wave of a hand is all it takes to get them turned on again. 4. The ability to adjust the brightness of the lights. 5. Long length of the power cord from the solar panel to the light. I can't address the battery life, since these two are specifically used only as short term lighting, but we have another one coming that will be used to provide more continuous light. I'll update this review when we know more. I would have given it 5 stars if the instructions had been just a bit more clear. I can't help but think the lack of clarity is why some of the one star reviews were received since I was starting to think they were accurate as I tried to get the remote to work with the unit. ... show more

    • Crazy Inefficient and Counter-Productive Design Flaws

I bought this single light for a shed. The listing says the light is 3K lumens, but that is not true. It is really about a fourth that brightness. So, I would suggest getting two lights rather than the single light. For the cost of the light, I think it has value. However, don't get me wrong, this light has serious issues. First and foremost is the fact you cannot add additional lights later. If they had a larger solar panel and sold splitters to run to multiple lights, I think my view of this product would be greatly improved. Installing this product was a nightmare. The screws are made out of an unreasonably soft metal, so I was stripping out screws just trying to screw in the product into pre-drilled holes. The screw connector was so big that a 1/2-inch sized drill bit was not big enough to run a roughly 3/8-inch sized wire through a wall. Now I have a huge hole in my shed that I have to now patch up. Moreover, the plastic mount is made out of very flimsy plastic. The design made it difficult to secure the light to a wood rafter because a screwdriver didn't easily fit into the area. Were this light outside, exposed to wind and sunlight, I would give the light about 3-6 months before the plastic broke causing the light to fall. Since I was screwing the light to a 2x4 rafter, I could only attach the light in one direction. This means, because the light does not have a multidirectional pivoting head, I am extremely limited in how I can adjust the light. The way you are to use the light is really stupid. You have to charge the light beforehand and then manually turn on the light to use the remote. You can manually do some modes at the light but the crazy design of this product means you have to use the remote for the rest of the modes. I set it for a 45 second motion light because that was the longest setting they offer and really the only viable option available to me. Again, this product is not user friendly at all! At night, if I needed to change the settings for when I am doing a long period of work in my shed, I would have to find the remote, drop whatever I was doing, re-change the settings on the light, etc. just to get a steady light that lasted more than 45 seconds. Then, you have to change the light settings back. All of this could be fixed by having a wireless light switch where I could just "flip on" and "flip off" the light. The remote is just a goofy concept that I do not get. To compound the matter, the motion detector only works when you are almost underneath the light. The lack of sensitivity makes it very vexing. Were the motion detector more sensitive, and had the manufacturer allowed for maybe additional settings (i.e., longer delays of say 5 minutes, 15 minutes, or 30 minutes) then I think I would have a better opinion of this product. Again, the claim of 3k lumens is false. In a 10'x16' shed, there are a lot of areas where you cannot see. If you need to read something, you definitely need to be immediately under the light or else you'd better have a flashlight on you. Were this a true 3k lumens light, it would be more than sufficient for this small a space. Durability is a big issue for me. This is not a durable product. The plastic components are flimsy. They tell you in the instructions that this product has issues with humidity and heat. I live in Florida. We're nothing but humidity and heat! I definitely wouldn't put this in an area where the light itself is exposed to sun, wind, or any type of prolonged motion as the plastic components are so thin and weak they will break due to fatigue and stress. There is a lot of room for improvement, but it still has a level of value that shouldn't be overlooked. ... show more
