I needed a second 6.2 Ah battery for my Ryobi tools and checked several offerings on Amazon before selecting this one, which had been favorably reviewed. I used it one time, running it down intentionally to dead, and attempted to put it on charge. First problem I noticed is the locking mechanism (to lock it into the charger or tool) seemed wonky. Then, the charger light started flashing indicating a battery issue. I hope it was overheating or something temporary. It was not. Even a day later, the battery refused to take any sort of charge--the green lights didn't light--nothing. It was almost as if the charger was not recognizing the battery at all. Bottom line, seemed like a great deal. But I'll pay full for genuine Ryobi if this is the quality of these off-brand offerings. ... show more

Unfortunately I have used it twice, and the battery only lasts for approximately 17-20 minutes of use. I can really tell the difference in the power of my weed eater and blower. I can now get my entire lawn complete without waiting on a battery to charge. And at half the price. It is a little tight putting it on the device and charger, at first.

I recently purchased the DTK Battery Replacement for my Ryobi 40V power tools, and my experience with it has been fairly average. This battery does have some pros and cons worth mentioning. On the positive side, it charges without any issues and fits perfectly into my Ryobi power washer, so compatibility is not a problem. The fact that it comes at a significantly lower price point than the official Ryobi brand is a definite advantage for budget-conscious consumers like myself. It's a cost-effective alternative for those looking to expand their collection of batteries without breaking the bank. However, there are some notable drawbacks. One of the most significant downsides is its relatively short lifespan when used with my power washer. It didn't last as long as I had hoped, and I found myself having to recharge it more frequently than my other batteries. This could be attributed to the lower amp-hour (AH) rating compared to some of my other batteries, which is a bit perplexing considering that it's lighter in weight. Speaking of weight, it's worth mentioning that this DTK replacement battery is noticeably lighter than my other batteries with lower AH ratings. While this might make it more comfortable to handle and carry around, it doesn't necessarily translate to longer usage, as I had expected. ... show more

We bought 2 of these to replace no longer functioning batteries (Ryobi) for our chain saw, leaf blower, string trimmer, and hedge trimmer. They charge well using the original chargers, and seem to have more power and run a lot longer than the batteries that came with the equipment.
