  • It flies well but needs patience to set up
It seems well made and the motors spin smoothly but, like another reviewer said, mine continuously drifted to the right - a lot. I fly model helicopters so I have some level of competence and was eventually able to get it flying stably. Here's some steps that might help you duplicate what I did: 0. Download the App for your phone, turn on the drone, hook up to the drone's WiFi, and run the App. This is optional as you can fly without any video downlink. 1. Turn the drone on while it's on a flat surface; sit it on it's legs with the LEDs and camera facing away from you* and then, while holding it still on the ground, reach underneath and press the power button for about 1 second - the 2 LEDs on the front will flash quickly. 2. With the transmitter on, move the LEFT stick fully forwards (away from you) until you hear a beep from the drone, then pull the LEFT stick fully towards you until you hear another beep from the drone. Now the LEDs should be on steady (not flashing) 3. Now you need to calibrate. To do this, hold both sticks left and down (towards you) until you hear a beep from the drone and then hold both sticks right and down (towards you) until you hear another beep from the drone 4. Now make sure there's no kids or animals around and you have lots of space 5. Press the 1-key ascend button and the drone should take off and hover about 3 ft off the ground; if the drone stays put in one place over the ground, you're good to go and you can skip 6 and 7 below. At any time you can 'escape' by clicking the One-key landing button, the drone will descend to the ground and stop. 6. If it drifts left or right or back and forwards, you can correct by using the right side stick to correct (e.g. if it's drifting right, move the right stick to the left) but you may have to hold the stick to get the drone to stay put. 7. If #6 is what's happening, you can permanently fix it by, while it's flying; take off, immediately click the fine-tuning button and immediately use the right stick to get rid of the drift; once you have the drone hovering stably in one place with no input on the right stick, press the one-key landing button and let it land - I say land because it seems that, if you fly it right after fine tuning, the right stick is still acting as an adjustment input for a further 5 to 6 seconds; I flew after fine tuning and found that the right stick was messing up the tuning I had just done and I had to do it again. The instructions aren't great and the video quality over the link is a bit jerky but, once the drone is stable, you can proceed with caution. I got it so stable that I could take my hands off the controls and walk around the drone while it stayed in one place which is what you want. Weather is an issue in my locale but I will add more when I get a chance to try out some of the other features. I think it's an OK drone. * If you start with the drone facing away from you, the right stick controls are intuitive in that left/right/away from/towards you matches the stick movements ... show more

  • Great value.
I got this for my 14-year-old grandson was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked. No, it's not GPS drone where you get a trouble and just let it go of the controls and it stops in the air regardless of the wind but 1/20 the price literally my DJI it still has a good compliment of features and the software works pretty well. ... show more

  • It's ok.
When i got the box it was really light. The box was open. The batteries where loose and not in the snug spot they should have Ben. It Flys and video is not as good as described. With brushless motors you would think it could handle some slight wind... not really.

  • You get a lot for the price
I have experienced flying drones of all shapes and sizes, from your cheap toy drone to your expensive commercial drone. I was impressed with how much you get for your money with this drone. Honestly, I have paid more for toy drones that did not have these features. For your money, you get obstacle avoidance, headless mode, auto take off/landing, and a camera (without a gimble). It has advanced features for this price point. It comes with extra propellers, 3 batteries, a USB-mini cable, and a controller. The controller can be used either with your phone and the app for the photos and to "see" through the drone or it can be used without a phone with the controller so you can just play and practice without worrying about connecting. It is lighter than I expected. It weighs only 178 grams with the battery, which is well under the 249g limit to fly without registering with the FFA. Its a nice little hobby drone and cheap enough to learn how to control without breaking the bank. When I first started flying, I bought a cheap toy drone (that cost more than this) just to learn the controls since the controls are functionally the same as the larger commercial drone that I needed to fly. Honestly, if this had been available for the same price-point, I probably would have purchased it then. I found the controls a little soft, but the drone was responsive. It did need to be calibrated when I first took off, but after that, it hovered in place and waited for me to tell it what to do. It's a cute little drone. I played around with the obstacle avoidance a bit to see if it would work, but only when taking it closer to the ground. It doesn't have a land or return to land button, so you have to bring it close to the ground yourself and then tell it to land which essentially just cuts the motors. It does sense when it is close to the ground though because it raises itself back up to stay clear. I would equip this with a tracker of some kind if you plan on taking it high up or fly it far. It doesn't have advanced features that will return it to you if it loses the link so having a way to locate it in the event of a fly away would be handy. The batteries are charged with a mini-USB, not my favorite, but they charged directly and not through a charger or the drone. The drone app seems like it wasn't made for this drone or was made for a drone with more advanced features. There were items that allowed you to change the modes including follow and gesture modes, but I could not get them to work. There were no directions for using either mode in the instruction manual. The drone connected to the app easily though and you could either steer it with the digital sticks, or there is a tilt mode. The camera you could see and control through the app, but the quality is very poor. It's supposed to be an HD camera, but it doesn't appear that way. You can control the drone with the controller or the app independently. However, even with these issues, it is still a good price for this drone and will be a good one to learn on. ... show more
