Looking for some kind of driveway monitor or alert, I found this really cute looking owl shaped motion sensor. It's isn't obvious at all when installed. I have this on a fence post about 4 ft back from the drive. It definitely senses motion across the span of at least 20 ft at my location. It reliably sounds everytime something enters the driveway. The batteries in it are still working for 2 months now. We chose the owl sound from the many options and at the lowest volume setting. For us, it's still loud enough to hear in another room. My only frustration with this sensor is that it really goes crazy on windy days. I tend to mute it then. I unfortunately have a yucca plant that waves it's leaves just within the sensor range. I still think this is a great device, and I have been alerted to various animals, including a roadrunner that likes the driveway that I hadn't noticed before. Mostly though I feel this has been accurately notifying us of every vehicle coming into the driveway for safety purposes. It is a good buy and a cheap addition to a security camera that lags on wifi. I am a housewife, and the whole process took about 15 minutes, start to finish, to completely install this alarm. Easy! Simple! and it works! One thing I really appreciate is that it does ONE thing. Simple! I live in the woods, and so depending upon activity of deer at night, I might have to make adjustments in position or aim it slightly differently, but I think this alarm is a great idea. This is an excellent value. The motion detection is good. The range is good. Set-up is good and pretty easy. It's pretty close to being a 5 star rating, but I save 5 star ratings for things that really blow me away. I can say I am very pleased with the performance of this motion detector. I would recommend this to anybody. I have tried in-ground metal detectors for cars only. DIdn't work. I've tried solar powered detectors with some success, but they are problematic in the winter time. These "owl" detectors work better than anything I've tried and they won't break the bank. Battery life is pretty darn good. I got two years out of my first "owl" detector before it ran out of juice. I replaced the alkaline batteries with Li-ion batteries, so we'll see how long those last. ... show more

I was skeptical about the range of the device. I hooked the sensor up at the end of my driveway. It is around 600 feet to the house. The receiver is centrally located in my house. It had no problem with that distance. Easy to set up and easy to mount. My sensor is mounted on a tree. I set the sensitivity to low. It very rarely chimes unless a vehicle or person comes down the driveway. I have to assume the rare few occasions that it chimed without someone pulling in was deer movement. No sensor is going to exclude deer. So, it works perfect for our needs. I haven't had to change the batteries on the sensor yet. I am curious to see how frequently that will need to he done, but so far so good. ... show more

The sensors work great and let me know when someone or something is coming down my driveway or by my garage. I did have one that was compromised by weather, a bit of water come out when I checked it and was going off constantly, but I got hold of customer service and they replaced it quickly with no problems. Out of all 5 sensors that's the only problem I had and I really don't know why it happened as they are well built and have a seal on the battery cover. ... show more

These alarms are just what I wanted! Mostly due to my bad hearing, I am often unaware of delivery trucks arriving unless I keep a watch out the window. Now I can relax, and the alarm will let me know when a vehicle arrives. At night, it lets me know when the raccoons and coyotes are on the move. This is my third driveway alarm product I've purchased and used over the last decade and after 3-4 months I can say it's my favorite (the other two were fine, but not as good as this one from HTZ Safe). This one is simpler to set up than previous ones (nothing to bury in the ground), and has accurately notified me of driveway access, and front porch access. It's also at a much better price point. Best thing is the rate of false alarms is so much lower than prior products I've used. I also like that this one takes up less space in the house, just one outlet, rather than having to sit on a counter or table. The Owl design is fun, and it's nice to that the Owl's eyes also flash with light in addition to the audible alarm. It was quite easy to set these up so each sensor produces a different tone, so I can quickly know if someone has entered my driveway, or walked up to my front porch (especially good for knowing that a package has been delivered). There is a generous offering of different alarm sounds, so it's easy to know just by the sound which of my two sensors is alerting. There are only 4 or 5 volume levels, but more than enough for my needs. I keep it reasonably loud so it can be heard from any room in the house. Finally, I can vouch for customer service and the HTZ's support of the product. I had an issue with my receiver after a month or two. I contacted HTZ support and within hours I had a response and a solution. Impressive service. ... show more
