  • Wonderfully helpful and durable
Color: Gray
We own 6 of these now. The oldest have been in near daily service for about 18 months. Due to the nature of our small business, these are used frequently in multiple vehicles. The dimensions are well designed when expanded or collapsed. When collapsed, they stow easily in the foot well behind either driver or passenger in our mid-size vehicles. When expanded, they fit perfectly on the rear seats. We can fit them parallel to the length of the vehicle or perpendicular. When they are perpendicular, a bit will overhang the seat bottom. But even with an overflowing tote, they ride and wear great. In our Toyota Highlander, I can fit 4 in the back with the third row seating folded down. A typical day might find me buying dozens or hundreds of business and ordinal items at several stops. I fill the totes, and everything from liquids, gels, soft food items, etc rides securely without hard items jostling into fragile items because of the compartments working with shopping bags. Later it's time to ship packages through UPS, FedEx, USPS, etc. It's convenient and impressive to stack these totes full of various sized parcels. Carry them with the handles, or stack them on a cart. Then unload and collapse the tote for the next day. When the bag is collapsed they stack perfectly in our home in the cubbies of the drop zone right by the garage to be ready for the next day. The oldest are around 18 months at the time I write this. Other than some scuff marks, they are wearing very well. I haven't had any tears, pulled stitches, etc. They're also convenient to take into stores. Expand one into the bottom of a shopping cart and fill it as you shop. If you like playing tetras with your items it's possible to stack two totes full of items in a cart with most ordinary items. No bags. No waste. ... show more

  • Organizational heaven
Color: Gray
I typically like to keep things very organized, but my car and trunk were a mess with stuff scattered everywhere and loose in the trunk. I finally decided to do something about it, looked at several different versions of these organizers (there are many different but highly similar ones, with only minor variances between them) and settled on these as they had good reviews, the company seemed good, and they had the extra feature of the straps. I now keep one opened in my trunk and another fully collapsed next to it for when it's needed. Between the various compartments and pockets, I can keep so much in just one of these, and it's organized. And I love that I can collapse them either all the way down (which allows keeping the extra on hand as mentioned), halfway down, or open all the way. And they are certainly sturdy enough to carry full of moderately heavy stuff, though I don't think I would fill them with milk jugs and/or water bottles and try, even though it would probably hold it. My only real issue with them is they slide all over in the trunk, so I had to glue some velcro to the bottom. Of course, even though I used small pieces, I put them in several strategic locations, so while it doesn't move around anymore, I have to lift the whole thing up to move it, since it won't slide. In retrospect, I should have used just a couple small pieces in the center or in a couple corners. But it would have been nice if this was done by the manufacturer, and if they could figure out something to use besides velcro, so it wouldn't grip so forcefully, but that would still grip enough to keep it from moving around on its own. Maybe some kind of non-skid or just some really fine textured velcro. Also, and this is very minor, the use of cleats and elastic loops for securing it in various stages of collapse is both good and bad. It's bad because they take a bit more effort to use than plastic buckles would have, but good because plastic buckles would add a bit more bulk and cost. There are, of course, other options for this part of the design as well, but unless you're constantly readjusting the size, it's an extremely minor issue. And the other, very minor, issue I have is with the two back net pockets (opposite side from the fabric pockets). I use one of them to store something that is a tight fit, and it would be really nice if it was a bit bigger. But if I cut the seam between the two to turn it into one pocket, it would be too big, and I would lose a pocket. Not really a big deal, and of course this will vary by individual, but for me it would have been nice to have them split 60/40 or 70/30 instead of 50/50. I'm sure I could devise a way to open them into one big pocket then add an adjustable separator, but some variation in the design would have been nice. A couple other things to note: - Since I just primarily keep it velcro'd down in one place to hold stuff that stays in the car, I don't use the straps with it. I've found them handy for attaching to a point in the trunk and then using the hook to hold on to grocery bag handles to keep the bags in place. - Most of the pictures here make the front pockets, and the flap over the one, seem to be very stiff fabric. They're perfectly flat and smooth and stand up perfectly. Actually, they're flimsy (though sturdy) fabric that sags, and I'm pretty sure they've stuffed the pockets to give them that look. It's not a bad thing; they're just trying to make it look as good as possible, and the pockets still work perfectly fine, but I wanted to mention it just in case someone got the impression from the photos they were really that stiff. ... show more
