I see a lot of reviews complaining that this doesn't remove clogs. It's not supposed to! This is for removing that slimy gunk that builds up inside drains and makes them run slowly. It won't help if the drain is completely clogged. I keep getting this gross, slimy black ick that builds up in my bathroom sink. It's probably a combination of soap, toothpaste, skin oils, dirt, hair from shaving, bacteria and food particles from brushing my teeth, and God knows what else. Everything you rinse down the bathroom sink. Over time, the drain gets really slow, which probably makes the gunk build up faster. We encountered a tough stop in the sink and discovered this solution for an industrial hair clog. Over time, with two daughters, guests, and now grandchildren - - the sink requires maintenance. This did the trick in under a half hour, which is surprising nowadays. Best solution we found.

Used it as directed on my clogged bathtub drain, did not work. So, the next day I went against the directions and used the whole bottle, then it worked. If you are worried about damaging your pipes I guess this works, just be prepared to use a lot more than it says. Otherwise I would recommend Drano max gel, or getting a snake. ... show more

I used a whole bottle of this stuff for a clogged bathroom sink. DIDN'T TOUCH IT! Instead, I used hot water, baking soda, vinegar and a plunger. Worked perfectly and not toxic. Don't waste you money.

    • This stuff really works! Ease of mind being safe for septic and all pipes

I was looking for a solution to clean out gunk for slowing pipes and prevent feature clogs and this product really works! I tried out lye in pvc piping for a few hours per instructions and didn’t do it all night as recommended for that product due to thermal melting concerns, it didn’t do much. I found this enzyme product and I did as instructions said for three nights in a row and the drain rate quickly improved. All the gunk isn’t all gone after such applications, but it does take time for enzymes to do their job. I am excited to see how the pipes look over the next year with monthly applications. I have some areas that are cast iron and was too worried to try out even slow working lye, so enzymes really become the only solution here without hiring someone for a hydro jet. This is effective for taking care of larger blockages and gunk (while you still have water flow) and it’ll take a while before it completely clears out the pipes. Since it’s the same types of bacteria used in septics, I feel great adding this in. ... show more

I think I misread or misunderstood where I ordered this. I’ve tried it several times (it’s a big bottle) and it did not unclog the shower drain. We always purchase draino and it always works, but not this specific type.
