First I must say that I own three of Dragontails excellent rods. I have found that, not only are they very well priced, the rods work well on the water. Another benefit is that Brent, the owner, stocks replacement parts for the Rods and has them available if you should need them. Dragon tail presently has three small Rods available. The FoxFIRE zx280 Zoom, a soft action rod. The Mizuchi zx340 Zoom, a fast action stiffer Rod. And the Kaida zx320 Tenkara Pack Rod, a medium action Rod. When I was looking to get a small stream rod from Dragontail to go with the longer Rods I own, I was glad to see they had come out with the Kaida. It truly cast well and has enough backbone to handle the larger fish I'm always hoping to run into and fits into the just right spot of not to hard and not to soft. ... show more

The Dragontail Kaida rod is an excellent beginner Tenkara rod (maybe for the experienced too). This is my first Tenkara fry fishing rod and I’m very happy with my purchase. Quality is top notch and very easy to setup. So far I’ve used this rod numerous times in alpine lakes and a creek. I’ve had lots of success catching trout. I bought some line, flies and line holders from Dragontail and they all work nicely. I’ve gotten addicted to this new hobby and find myself taking it on any hike or camping trip as well.
