Medium flap sash requires the window to rise at least 22" and Large flap sash requires the window to rise at least 26. Panels will not contract narrower than the lowest measurement, but you can trim 3/4" off the right side flange.
  • IMPROVED INSULATION; The two-piece flap design coupled with a double flap option effectively doubles insulation value compared to similar flexible vinyl flaps. Width ranges are determined by measuring from the widest point left to the widest point right.

We were pretty excited about this product but, it's just not going to work. This review is for the Large size flap on a 32" wide window The unit appears to be built very well. The installation was pretty easy. Be sure to measure the window track width on the sides, not just the bottom. Ours is just a little too narrow, and if we were keeping it, I would need to modify it a little to have the pressure you need against each side. The width adjustment is easy. Just two adjustment screws release and lock the compression springs inside, and they even included a flat blade screwdriver (like I needed another) in the package. The disappointment is that the flap is not very resistant to a light breeze. The flap just opens and stays open until the wind dies down. Even when the flap was closed, it was allowing air into the seams. If you live in an area with very few breezy days, or very mild weather overall, then this door may be just fine for you. But NOT here in the Midwest where wind is generally a part of daily life, no matter how hot or cold. They also include a roll of weather-stripping with the window. Since we immediately noticed the problem with the flap, we didn't get far enough into the installation to know if enough is provided or how good it is, but it seemed adequate. So we're going to return the unit. At this price, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect the flap to close and stay shut until a pet wants in/out. It's possible that the smaller flaps may have better results. Again, this is for the Large flap version. In my opinion, they need to redesign this flap for better wind and weather resistance. ... show more

I loved the idea of the 2 layers. All 3 of my dogs are under 12 lbs. The 2nd plastic trips them often, they pull it out of the holder. Also the window We have steps to inside and outside, but we did not realize the insert also had another 4.5 to 5 inches lift. For small dogs this is a lot. We have placed it both ways and either one we still have same challenges. For larger dogs this is probably a great fit. ... show more

The second panel ripped off after 2 times. Iโ€™ve had to add more holes with screws and washers to get it to somewhat not come out. If it rains you will get water inside.

Door was very easy to install. Within first month the door panel tore at the top left corner. A few weeks later the right corner tore loose. I fixed by adding a washer behind screws and so far they are holding. The magnetic frame does not hold flap closed as seen in picture. Letโ€™s cold air and rain in. ... show more

Very good quality with one issue. The flexible door flap does not seal weather tight. I contacted customer service and they were just super good to deal with. I order a second door flap for the other side and solved my concern.

This is clearly not new and was obviously repackaged (poorly). The width adjustment panel is bent which causes it to be askew and not sit flush in the windowsill. The rubber flaps are also bent and donโ€™t align with the magnets to remain closed. There is also an extra part that is not referenced in the manual or online. ... show more
