The first thing you notice when opening the box is the excellent quality of packaging by Dr. Trainer. Not quite Apple level, but then they're next level posh anyway. ;) In the box, you get everything you need - the collar, remote, instructions and a charging cable. So far, so good. Do yourself a favor and charge everything up first, as they don't always come with a charge in them. The good news is that it only takes a few minutes to charge up the collar and the remote -- and they both use a micro-usb cable, which everyone has lying around already. Adjustment of the collar is typical and easy enough. Testing vibration and shock settings yielded no great surprises, other than the lower shock settings are almost totally imperceptible to me. I'd estimate that an average dog might not even notice anything below maybe 30-35. Mine didn't show any reaction under 50, and even that wasn't much of a reaction. But that said, I try to stay away from shock except in the case of dangerous behaviors, like bolting into the street, etc. In addition to vibrate and shock, you can also play sounds through the collar, with variable volume. Most collars at this price point don't allow you to change the volume like this one. Not only that, but you can even RECORD sounds (up to 7?) and use the associated app to set which one you want active. Very, very cool! Which brings me to the one negative I've encountered with this collar. When using the sound function, there is a substantial delay -- I would estimate about a second -- between button push and sound emission. This may not seem like much, but when signaling certain behaviors for training, timing is everything. This can create some confusion for the dog. So I cannot fully recommend this collar for that specific purpose. In addition to using this as a training collar, you can also (via the app) set it to an automatic "anti-bark" mode. In this mode, you can set parameters for how loud the barking needs to be to activate the collar, as well as exactly what to do upon 1st, 2nd bark and so on. For example, you can have it emit a sound on the first bark, vibrate and emit sound on 2nd, then vibrate and shock @50 on extended barking. This has come in handy for me and my very entitled m/o Lab/Border pup, and I can already see improvement in his behavior after a couple of weeks of only sporadic use. Overall, I think this is a fine product with excellent features for the price. But for one fairly significant flaw, it might be perfect. Hopefully, they can improve this via firmware update at some point. 4/5* ... show more

This collar was a life saver. My cane corso barked nonstop for hours no matter what I did especially at night. Within 3 days the barking was at a minimum and within one week I was able to take the collar off of her. I now use it for my Rottweiler puppy who runs out of the yard. I haven't had to use the shock feature yet bc the loud sound is enough to make her come back. This was one of the best purchases I've made. BTW my puppies have bathe and played in the mud with this collar. It is very durable. Battery life is approx 2 weeks. The app works fine within range. The remote is my new best friend. Definitely a must buy 👌🏾 ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This is our 3rd dog collar. We had one we loved that really changed both our dogs behavior and we really only used the vibrate and noise function. That one started to die after about 2 years of use and we ended up with one you can hook up to your phone through an app. It had a lot more functions and you could really set preferences, but I found it a pain to really take my phone with me everytime I went outside. Onto this one. At first glance, packaging is awesome. Also, I like how simply laid out the remote is. I charged both the collar and remote within an hour. I tried to show each setting quickly in the video. It is easy to change the static settings by pushing the setting button and toggling up or down. I have mine currently at 60 for my big 100 pound dogs. I don't use that function much at all so we will have to see. The vibrate is strong and the noise is loud enough to hear in distance. The collar was very easy to adjust and fit on the dogs neck. All in all I am quite happy with this purchase. Right now I only use the one collar since my dogs rarely need it, but I like to have it in case a reminder is needed. I have told everyone I know with dogs to get these collars. Anyone that has gotten one agrees it really helps in training! ... show more

On full power, the shock against my palm is less than the feeling of a 9 volt battery on your tongue. Its a barely noticeable sensaiton which completely ruins the entier point. The sound and vibration work, but thats simply a temporary distraciton and doesnt train the dog at all.

I used the static shock on myself and it was tiny, almost unnoticeable. Even at max juice (99) I could barely feel a tickle. My dog looked at me and laughed. I'm not saying the device needs to cause pain, but this collar wasn't enough to train my dog. Also, the bark detection wasn't sensitive enough to catch most of the barks, even on the the most sensitive setting. A note for the manufacturing company. The instructions need updated. On step 5 the directions reference the app, but no app name is given and the app is never mentioned beforehand. Also, the stop-bark vs the stop on the app settings need changed. they both make it sound like the user is stopping the device from using the static portion which is confusing. Why not use "bark control on" and "bark control off". there's no way for a user to mess that up. ... show more

Collar is easy to setup, adjust the length, and cut the slack to fit your dog. With proper training, and always using the beep before the static, you can easily get to the point where you never have to use the static, because the dog will realize the warning sound. A must have for dogs whose recall isn't 100% proven. Allowed me to take my dog up to the cabin off leash, and not be worried that she wouldn't listen or not come back when called! ... show more

This has very good battery life. First charge lasted about a week and I use it majority of the day. Everything works great. Love the app option and the barking control. There is a 1-2 second delay with the remote. However when in my phone it’s instant.
