  • Great sounding. Easy to fret and play.
Size: .040-.095
I’ve just started to take up bass after playing electric guitar for over 35 years. These are the right strings to start my beginner journey. They sound fantastic and are easy to play. The lighter gauge makes both left hand fretting and building up finger muscles on my right hand, a breeze. I might move up to thicker string gauges but for now these are perfect. ... show more

  • Try them more than once!
Size: .045-.125
Second time using them on modified standard Fender Jazz Bass V. I learned a few things during installation that ensure the strings perform as they should. Installed correctly, they are a wonderful string and the tone is just like Victor Wooten says in his endorsement. I was a big Rotosound player my entire 40 plus years of playing but those were always installed on USA vintage fenders. Rotosound on the standard Jazz sounded ok but the B string was always a weak link. The Pure Blues fixed that! And the tone is way more solid, even across all strings, and the B is now part of the family! The bass sounds and plays like butter. When installing them: on Fender posts I try to get three wraps. I found myself only cutting the G, E & B if I recall correctly. If you do cut the string, place a near 90 degree bend then cut the string after that about an inch. That can go into the post hole. As your wrap the string on the post avoid twisting the string as you wrap it. That will create addition tension on the core of the string and make it sound and perform differently. To avoid this, leave the string ball end out of the bridge about an inch or two and as you wrap the string it will eventually pull up into place without a twisted string. Specifically ON THE B!!!! And more importantly if you string thru body! I only string the B string thru body. The rest is top load. If you installed the strings and anyone on them sound dull, this is the issue. Specifically past 12th fret will be the worst. Reinstall the string. Intonation Adjustments had to be made and so forth but after that I’m super happy to be using these. They sound spectacular. My amps are Ashdown and Aguilar with Ampeg and Eden mix of cabinets. The 2017 Standard Jazz has Seymour Duncan linear Jazz pickups with Seymour’s two-way active tone control outfitted with some American hardware and hand finished neck. ... show more

Size: .040-.095
I use the strings on my Fender 60s mustang bass talking about wonderful. The strings that came with the bass was heavy it was really killing my fingers I’m very happy I picked the pure blues.

  • Some of the best strings I've ever tried.
Size: .045-.125
This was the first time I've tried the Pure Blues bass guitar strings. I honestly would rank these strings as some of the best strings I've ever used. They have an excellent balance between the deep full bass sound and the clear highs without being too snappy. I use them on my Sire v5 jazz bass and they are a perfect fit with both sound and feel. I'm very happy that I tried True Blues, and will most likely use these strings in the future. ... show more

  • Love these strings!
Size: .045-.125
I love these strings! I’ve been using them for at least 5 years. They sound amazing on my two 5 string Jazz Basses! And they last a long time. I do mostly studio recording and I probably keep my strings on longer than most but it’s because I love them sooo much! Out of the box they are bright but not harsh. Everything sounds like crystal clear water. You can hear every note and it makes you pay close attention to your technique. But I personally love the sound of them after they’ve been broken in after a few weeks. The character and tone you get from them is clear, warm and punchy! I play Gospel, R&B and CCM mostly and these strings give me exactly what I want. Best strings around in my opinion. ... show more

  • They are nice and flexible and have a nice snap to them.
Size: .040-.095
The sound good and are both bright yet warm sounding after that you must keep them very clean after use they corrode rather quickly and will go dull sounding after the first week if you don’t take good care of them.
