Size: 101.44 fl oz.
It is NOT 18 cents per ounce and there is NOT 544 fl oz. The container is 101.44 fl oz which makes it about $1.00/oz. Cleverly the (3QT. 544 fl oz) should read (3QT + 5.44 fl oz) or (101.44 fl oz as it says on the container) Nice little crafty mistake or misplaced decimal point to catch people that aren't paying attention and trick them into paying over 5x what's being represented. The specs for this Dr. Mercola Solspring Biodynamic Extra Virgin Olive Oil are all good, if they’re accurate, which is always in question for olive oils on the market these days, many (not to say “most”) of which are apparently not what they’re supposed to be. Anyway, this one ticks all the right boxes. Extra-virgin: check. Cold-pressed: check. Non-GMO: check. USDA Organic: check. Unfiltered: check. Single origin: check. Single variety: check. What more could one look for in an olive oil? Well, how about taste? The best way to evaluate an olive oil is NOT to cook with it, but to taste it in a way that showcases its good points while providing an opportunity for any faults to become apparent. To that end, we taste-tested this oil on crumbled Greek Feta cheese liberally sprinkled with fresh-ground black pepper and with slices of ciabatta baguette on the side. It was excellent in all respects. Its mild fruity character enhanced and complemented but did not overwhelm the salty tang of the cheese, which is exactly what we look for when we have Feta as an appetizer. Compared neat to the California Olive Ranch Miller’s Blend Reserve Collection First Cold Press Extra Virgin Olive Oil that we usually use, this oil has virtually the same aroma and flavor, which is high praise indeed. In my opinion you can trust this Dr. Mercola Extra Virgin Greek Olive Oil to deliver the goods. Five enthusiastic stars. Just one nit, though: The Product Description says the package contains three bottles, but the photo shows two bottles, and that’s what I got in my Vine shipment. Dr. Mercola Solspring Biodynamic Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil in the 2 pack, is a product of Greece. It’s cold pressed from Koroneiki olives within 24 hours of harvesting and is USDA certified organic. This is a very flavorful olive oil. I use a lot of olive oil both in cooking and for dressings and dipping. The bodynamic aspect interested me and seems like a more sophisticated version of what I used to think of as proper rotation of crops. It certainly makes for a tasty product. The only quibble that I have with this product is that the two bottles that I received contain significantly different amounts. Both bottles are tightly sealed and there are no leaks, however, one bottle has just over a third less than the other. This doesn’t reflect well on quality control and it is doubtful that customers would be happy getting a bottle that is only two-thirds full so I am deducting one star. Dr. Mercola Solspring Biodynamic Organic Extra Virgin is a very flavorful Greek olive oil. The Best Before date on both bottles that I received is 8 months in the future. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I put the Solspring Olive Oil through a couple of taste tests, and there is some good news and bad news. The good news is that I really loved it. Tastes great, works well in my kitchen. I use olive oil for a lot of things, and Solspring is going to work just fine everywhere. The bad news is that I'm not an EVOO expert. When I compare the taste of Solspring to that of my store brand, I don't taste a lot of difference. I am sure that people with more discerning palates might be able to point out more subtle factors than I can. This EVOO is priced a bit on the high side. It's not crazy expensive, but it is definitely going to cost more than your generic store brand oils. So my conclusion is that you should consider buying this oil if you care a lot about the sustainable farming practices they are using. It's certified organic, and beyond just that, they are thinking generations ahead for their farms. Ever since a certain store that I frequent sold some olive oil imported from Greece, I have a hard time going back to the old brands I previously used. This olive oil is almost exactly the one that I dearly loved! It has a somewhat greenish tint that indicates it has a higher chlorophyll content than yellow colored olive oils, and it tastes amazing. This oil has a wonderful fruity and slightly grassy flavor, a strong aroma, and tastes very good! I like to mix herbs and spices into a bowl with it to dip hot bread in, and it's excellent in homemade salad dressings or to flavor up jars of pasta sauce. These bottles were very securely nestled in bubble wrap for transport, mine arrived in perfect condition with seals intact.
