I'm 5'-10" 214 lbs going on to 73 so I need to exercise but got hills all around the house. I have been searching for an electric bicycle but the prices are too high for this retired blue-collar worker. So I kept looking and finally came across this Dr. Gymlee which had no review at the time. Took the leap and I believed I scored well. The bike came earlier than scheduled, took me about 25 minutes to finish putting it together. I glanced at the manual once to put the front wheel on so it was very easy to assemble. Took a test ride without battery power and it felt good. Consult the manual again for charging and operational instructions, put to charge (non-removable battery), 3 hrs later test ride again this time with battery power. Comparing with other e-bike reviews, this one did very well. Today I challenged the number one hill and I was able to ride it up in assist mode all the while sitting (normally I would have to walk it up). I got up onto the grade and it was a blast. The 2 modes I am most likely to use are the "assist and manual" Of course I can't speak for longevity but the bike seems to be fairly built and put together well. ... show more

This bike is really nice for daily short commute (10 or less miles). I was suspicious when I saw it with no reviews, however it proved to be a great bike. I got it for going uphill, and it definitely serves its purpose. It will lack with huge steepness, but for the most part it is good. It is at a really good price, and best of all, the components and shipping are the best you can get at this price range. It even came two days before it said it would. The only issue is that the instructions are not the greatest, but it is simple enough to figure out. Also, the on button next to the horns does not turn on the bike, but the middle button(between the arrows) of the left grip does. ... show more

To be honest, I did not choose this product because of its low price. I firmly believe that you get what you pay for. What really attracts me is its fast charging function. I bought an ebike 2 years ago,The bike I used to charge usually takes 6-8 hours to fully charge. When you need to use it and there is not much battery left, the process of waiting for the charge makes me maddening.So I send it to my little brother and buy a new one. After receiving the bike, I couldn't wait to test the charging speed, but the result was disappointing. It took 7 hours to fill up. I suspected that I made a mistake, so I checked the seller's description again. Yes, they Say it can be fully charged in 4 hours. What a misleading description! I am very angry, the style is not very satisfactory to me, the battery and power are not outstanding. The only reason I choose this bike is the fast charging function. This product was looking nice initially. Its such a waste product as per the price paid for. Agree with one of the review by Warren S Naylor. It look like scam and the high price i bought by thinking that its worth but its not. Cheap charges and battery quality and drain much easily. Honk stopped working. Breaks are mis aligned and always make some bad noise. You buy electric bike for some reliable biking but this is a very cheap and bad product. Updating this review as i wrote a good review in excitement on first day but now i can see thisntime that it have a short life. I suggest to save your money and do not buy that. One of my friend showed that this company tries to compensate for the reviews which is really showing bad product. DO NOT BUY. ... show more

    • Impressive quality and features for the money
This was my first E-Bike, it was much better than expected and I got it for a great deal when compared to what others offered online. The built quality was much better than something that you could get from Walmart, and the many features that came with it were unexpected. My only gripe would be the thin and hard seat cushion that came with the bike, which I replaced with a thick and soft bike seat that I ordered earlier from Amazon. Looks like the price for this E-Bike had already gone up by $30 since I ordered it. Would definitely recommend this to any budget-minded shoppers. ... show more
