These rods are far and way the best I've ever purchased (and I'm a senior). After significant research and installing an Umbra over a picture window, I went back to the drawing board and replaced the remaining rods in the house with these beautiful all metal (unlike many) rod sets (in matte black) throughout the rest of the house. The oval backplate is brilliant; it's easy to install and beautifully hidden. We installed the middle of the backplate about 1.25" below the ceiling (i.e. in the header for the walls) with 1.5" screws to enure they were sturdy, yet easily removable when necessary, and to maximize energy savings. (Your measurements may necessarily vary for your home.) This application is so sturdy that it's easy to install and remove draperies by simply unscrewing the rods in place. The rods sit 2" and 4.5" from the window, giving them just enough air space to help insulate without standing out too far into your room. The wrap around end feature is not only stylish, but surprisingly energy efficient. IMHO, you can't go wrong with these! ... show more

Luckily it’s pretty easy to figure out although I did get confused about which pole was which more than once. The instructions are actually useless. Waste of ink even printing them really. Luckily they were pretty easy to put together and mount and they look nice. So.

The media could not be loaded. Very easy to install, works great with my existing blackout curtain, and a new sheer I added with these rods. I had a single rod before, and it had a single screw hole already in place. The mount for this new double rod had two horizontal screw mounts, where one was compatible, fit perfectly with the one already existing screw hole... so I only needed to add one additional hole. Mild warning: This product comes with one double-rod set only. I had thought it came with two. That was my oversight but it required me to purchase another one so I could have two. If you have two windows or doors, you might need two sets of double rods so make sure you check on that and the related cost. ... show more

TIP: I first used a 1/8 drill bit to start the holes, then took another reviewer’s advice and used a 3/16 bit instead of the recommended one for the 28”-48” rod. The anchors fit *snugly and hold well. * This was my first time putting up “real” curtain rods and I couldn’t get two of the anchors to get all the way up to the wall (hammered my thumb trying though lol). Those two anchors are drilled into studs, the rod feels stable and is completely level so I’m not worried about them falling. It does mean the parts you slot the rod into are sticking out from the wall by a minuscule amount, but not enough to cause issues I think. Pros Sleek, the gunmetal gray was a good color choice. The wraparound feature makes my living room MUCH darker than my old normal tension rod. Great to use with linen blackout curtains and a white privacy (not 100% shear) curtain on the inside. Works with curtain hooks without any catching, a very smooth open and close experience. Cons (sort of) Putting curtains on and taking them off of this rod is definitely more involved than just getting a double rod with two individual rods. I won’t be changing these curtains if I don’t have to lol ... show more
