When I first opened the box, I was sad to see that my label was peeling and bubbly. I collect perfumes and like to have all my bottles in perfect condition. I almost returned it for the label alone. Upon first smell, I was not impressed either. I didn’t smell any of the notes that it claims to have so I set it aside with the intention of retuning it. It sat in a drawer for a few days. Last night as I was getting ready to submit a return request, I smelled it one more time and OH My GOODNESS, it smells AMAZING once it dries down. I can’t really describe the smell. I just know that I want to bathe in it now. I smell like I shop at all the expensive stores and that I’ll turn any head. I’m keeping this and ordering more so I never run out. I also really like the magnetic lid. I had to take off one star for the label but the scent is five stars for sure. ... show more

Smells good but is definitely very masculine. I couldn't imagine a masculine fruity scent but this is it for sure. I like it, just not on my body. I spray it on my linens and carpet since it can't be returned. It's my fault for not doing more research. This was a blind buy.

This is a great value for a department store perfume dupe. I'm unfamiliar with the YSL perfume this is based on, so I can't comment on the closeness of the match. But this smells very traditional to me. I can't pick out any of the individual notes, and it is not as sweet and warm as I expected with brown sugar being in the name. Whether this smells like an older woman's perfume will depend on your generation. I think of old lady perfumes as powdery white florals, which this is not. This reminds me of perfumes adult women wore in the 1990s and 2000s. Definitely nostalgic, and a good value if the scent is up your alley. ... show more

    • Misnamed but a LOVELY scent!

Confession, I ordered this on a whim and didn't really expect to like the scent. I figured I would order, review, and use it as a poo-pouri in my kids bathroom if I truly hated it. I mostly picked it as I'm a rolling stones fan and after seeing the name, brown sugar was stuck in my head so I said why not. Spoiler alert...I did not hate it at all. First thing to note...this really isn't fruity. I never picked up the pear and raspberry, maybe a slight hint of the bergamot but that's a stretch at best. At first the molasses notes from the brown sugar comes on VERY strong, I almost thought that it might end up in a donation box later rather than as potty fragrance it was that strong (I was also kicking myself that I actually did the spray and walk into method so now it's on me love it or hate it and I smelled like pancakes). Fortunately, it mellowed out and the vanilla tones were noticeable and then the orange blossom notes gave it a floral very slight citrus finish. I'm not really one to care about the look of the bottle (I'm a child of the Bath and Body Works era, I may have sprays in plastic bottles and that's just fine). I will say if you are looking to give this as a gift, the fragrance box itself has a designer simplicity to it and is well made. The card insert (second picture in the listing I have) almost has a leather feel to it. The bottle has weight to it. Someone obviously cared about the presentation of the fragrance. If you know your partner's scent choices, this would make a thoughtful gift. I highly recommend that if you like the fragrance Happy but want something slightly warmer, you will like this. Also let it settle before you decide if you love it or hate it, the initial fragrance is very different from what it tones out to in the end. I would say it is more of a spring fragrance than a summer fragrance but over all a very lovely scent. ... show more

I truthfully never heard of Dossier until recently. I figured, due to the low cost, it wasn’t going to be any good. But wow, I am SO happy I decided to get this Dossier - Fruity Brown Sugar - Eau de Parfum !! I know this says it’s inspired by YSL - Mon Paris Eau de Parfum…I’ve never smelled or tried it, so have no clue if the two are similar. BUT, this perfume is great!! It’s the perfect “feminine” perfume. Great for spring / summer and easily can be worn every day. Gives off a sweet, floral (not overly floral) and fruity scent. Top Notes: Bergamot, Raspberry, Pear Middle Notes: Jasmine, Orange Blossom, Brown Sugar Base Notes: Patchouli, Amber, Vanilla I truthfully do not smell the bergamot, jasmine or patchouli (which I’m happy with as I’m not a huge fan of patchouli). It goes on strong at first but does fade. But it doesn’t disappear immediately. AT ALL! The first time I tried it, I applied to both wrists and my neck. I got in the shower right after (I usually try perfumes before my shower just in case I don’t like the scent and can wash it off of me haha), BUT, I could still smell it on my wrists when I got out of the shower! And I have been wearing almost every day since I got it and it lasts me a good 4-5 hours (and I might just be getting used to the scent but others may be able to still smell it)! I’m a HUGE fan!! And I am SO excited to check out more of their scents!! 10 out of 10 recommend! And it also would make a great and inexpensive gift!! ... show more
