  • Perfect for a practice environment
Size: 5W-Vintage
I bought this because my son was interested in the bass guitar I had lying around, and I'd lent the amp (permanently, apparently) to a friend. I came across this and thought it may work well for what we wanted. I'm happy to say it's perfect for what I intended. It's loud enough that my son can easily hear what he's doing without it being so overpowering as a full sized floor amp would be. Don't expect to be vibrating any walls with this thing, but it will let you practice and easily hear what you're doing if you aren't trying to play over anyone else's equipment. It's also extremely small and portable and rechargeable - we've played with it for a good hour now and have yet to plug it in to charge up again. If you're looking for an amp just to noodle around with a guitar or bass and aren't going to be competing with other sound sources, this one fits the bill and sounds good doing it. If you want something that will crank out enough sound to blend in with other instruments and/or vocals this won't do the trick, but it's not intended to. ... show more

  • Punches above it's weight limit!
Size: 5W-Vintage
I wasn't expecting too much for this little banger honestly, so when i did plug my guitar in to this tiny amp i truly was shocked by the tone and also the volume. I have bought a bunch of small mini amps and i figured i would give it a try since Amazon would let me return it if it wasn't up to par. Well it not only is up to par, it leaves par way down below somewhere! I really haven't had time to check out any of this little Champ's features but even if none worked i would still be ok due to the sound alone. It is just what it says it is . It is a handy little amp you can take anywhere and it will sound great and it's so small it would fit into your car's glovebox if needed. I recommend to anyone wanting portability without sacrificing good tone and volume, like say the beach, vacation etc. It works on battery and easy charging is good also. Thanks Donner, you really knocked it out of the park this time! ... show more

  • Excellent quality for price
Size: 5W-Cyclops Digital
It's a solid little modeling amp. The models chosen are essentially a who's-who of iconic amp formats, so the characteristics are nice. The sound quality's decent for most basic uses, so for a simple practice amp you can put in your apartment without having to fight the neighbors? Brilliant. Only downsides I can give you: - No cable output. If you want to push it to recording, you're going to have to mic it. There's no direct entry for your audio interface. - The models don't seem to handle breakup. So pushing gain or volume particularly hard in any given model isn't that impactful. Some of the really useful character in the source amps is based on what happens when you push them and the model doesn't really reflect that. Overall, though, they're good sounding and if you want more character or effect, the onboard effects are reasonable, and you can gladly add any external pedals you want. ... show more

  • So many features, such a big sound, such a compact size
Size: 5W-Cyclops Digital
I don’t know where to start. It’s a great practice amp with emulation for many different sounds. I actually run my bass through it and it sounds great! There’s delay, which I can use to run my keyboard or guitar though without having to buy a delay pedal. It has a drum machine. It takes batteries and it plays backing tracks via blue tooth. You can basically practice over a backing track on your porch or it’s great for busking. And it has a 1/8 output into a PA or mixer. It charges via two different cables including a round 9v guitar pedal type prong. Other units will have their usb break or work itself loose and then it’s a brick. And it just looks aesthetic on a bookshelf, with its slanted almost vintage design. ... show more

  • It just works
Size: 5W-Vintage
I have a Roland micro cube, which is excellent. I got it to have something small. But the Roland really fills up a duffle bag so I wanted something even smaller that I could fly with and give enough volume for playing with friends in a room. I'm happy with the Donner. Plenty of volume, clear channel sounds good with voice and acoustic guitar. Distortion is good on electric. Hey, This is not a full featured amp and pedal board, But it's excellent for its size and intended use. ... show more

  • good amp, breaks
Size: 5W-Cyclops Digital
I bought one in June, it arrived non-functional. I returned it for a replacement, which worked for about a week. Then the amp selector started malfunctioning, only working on 3 amp models. Amazon does not give an option for a second replacement, only a refund. I emailed Donner twice and have received no response. Return deadline is in 4 days. I really liked it when it worked. When it worked: The amp sims are fair, the 5150, mesa boogie and fender amps sound pretty good. The effects sound pretty good. It would be cool if it had presets. The drums sound alright but the controls are awkward. Overall it's worth the money. I can still return it and just order a 3rd one but I would like Donner to know they have a good product that is worth buying if they can work out quality control issues. Please respond! ... show more

  • SHOCKED !
Size: 5W-Cyclops Digital
This amp is awesome period ! I have the Spark Mini Go and the Spark 40. The Cyclops is my go to practice amp, I bought off Amazon for $87 2 months ago and best money I ever spent. Spark is good but for me Cyclops is better. Turn it on, built in tuner. Amp Sim. 5150 and almost get kicked out of my hotel on 5 watts. And the Retro look is one of a kind. I would buy it again ! ... show more

  • Best portable amp I ever had.
Size: 5W-Cyclops Digital
This is the best portable amp I've ever had and for the price you can't beat it. It sounds great, plenty loud, and it's easy to use. My only complaint is that it needs a carry strap.
