  • Near Perfect!
Size: DDP-60 Color: Light Wood Grain
I was nervous to purchase after reading some of the reviews and also with the all the issues I’ve had with some larger purchases I’ve made on Amazon recently but I’m so happy I purchased this! I must preface that I do not know how to play the piano. I bought this keyboard so I could learn but mostly for my kids to learn. I do play other instruments though so I can tell by the sound when something is off. All the keys worked well and the sound was good. I saw some reviews where not all of the keys worked. I did not have this issue. Someone also made a comment about the color of the feet being blue. That’s actually just the protective plastic you have to take off so the metal doesn’t get scratched. It was packaged well and had no cosmetic issues whatsoever. The keys do not feel like a piano but they are nicely weighted. This feels as close as I think a keyboard could get. If you’re looking for the true feel of a piano you’ll have to buy a piano. When I attempted to plug in two different sets of my kids headphones you could not hear in the headphones. I don’t know if this is an issue with type of headphones or what but the sound on the piano did turn off as noted in the manual and still no sound in headphones so I’ll have to look into that as I did not give it much attention this evening. Could be user error? After much research I settled on this design and the look of this is beautiful. The wood is not that orange/gold/yellow fake wood color. I was worried since I’ve purchased things before and they don’t look like the picture. Overall it gets five stars! ... show more

  • For a full-sized 54-key digital piano, this is one of the better deals.
Lots of people have decided to take up hobbies for the year 2020. With so much time in isolation this year, you aren't looking to waste your life away doing nothing. So, like many other people I decided to take up learning an instrument to pass the time. My choice was the piano. While I had some minor training as a child, I didn't advance very far in the end. This year seemed like a solid time to re-acquaint myself with the craft. This Donner brand piano keyboard goes for around 70 dollars on Amazon. For that price, it is easily one of the better deals for digital keyboards on this site. You must be careful to look out for the cheap toy models of piano keyboards. You can't do much with those brands for serious piano training. Make sure to check if the keyboard has full-sized keys or not. Refer to pictures and online video reviews if you must. This keyboard is a Chinese-branded keyboard, but it is no toy. It's built very well and has full-sized keys. The documentation is in mostly error-free English. And it has a nice assortment of features that not only allow for learning to play piano, but also some limited MIDI arranging capabilities. It's also surprisingly well made for what it is. You can't expect the best for 70 bucks, but it does deliver a ton for your money and then some. The back of the keyboard has a mic jack, a headphone/line-out jack, and a power jack as well. It comes with a power adapter and a little cheap karaoke mic. It's not great, but if you're serious about live karaoke sessions, you can replace the mic with a better model. And since the Headphone-in jack is ALSO a Line-out jack, you can use any two-ended aux cable to run the sound of the keyboard to a PC with a Line-In Port. Just use a Male-to-Male Stereo AUX cable; plug one end into the headphone jack on the keyboard - the other end plugs into the Line-In port on your PC's soundcard. Once you do this, you can use most DAWs and even Audio Editor software on PC to record your composed music to .WAV and .MP3 files. You'll have to select Line-In recording in the DAW or Audio editor of your choice, but once done, you can even use this keyboard as a limited MIDI/Studio Mix Arranger if you wish. It's a handsome keyboard with nice features. You can use batteries if you want to be fully mobile with your keyboard. 6 D-size batteries is all it takes. Seems to last pretty long on batteries from my testing. A shocking number of high-end features are present on this keyboard as well. * It seems to have semi-weighted keys - they have good resistance and touch feedback when held down. *200 MIDI instrument tones, 200 tempo tracks, and 50 demo songs is better than what cheaper keyboards with 6 tones and 10 tempo tracks have to offer. *Includes a Sustain key that is equivalent to a Sustain pedal; can also add vibration to all keytones with the included Vibrato key. *Can record short tracks on the keyboard itself; no need for DAW PC software to record composed songs for temporary playback (for friends and family). *Individual volume adjusting for both main and backing (tempo-track) rhythms. *Stand-alone percussion instrument section, independent of MIDI instrument choice. Great for multi-layered song mixing and improvisation. *Decent speakers and a chord chart LED are higher-end features usually seen in 200-plus dollar offerings. The negatives are that the sound quality could be better on many MIDI instrument tones, but I've heard much worse from other brands. The keyboard also doesn't have a Sustain pedal port, or a MIDI-out jack (can use Line-out port) for getting your music into a DAW. You might also feel limited on a 54-key keyboard once you get familiar with composing more complex pieces of music. Besides all that, I really like this Donner digital piano. It's one of the nicest looking keyboards I've found on here, as well as being really well made for the price. The keyboard even has mounting supports for mounting screws for some keyboard stands. It's a solid feeling piece of equipment for the price. You can learn to play on this thing, use it for family karaoke sessions, or even use it as an input device for your digital audio workstation program on PC or Mac. The best deal for a digital piano I've seen on Amazon. Four out of five stars. ... show more

  • Bought for Christmas
This was a great present for a 12 year old just learning. Will probably need to upgrade eventually, but for the price....absolutely amazing.

  • My money is worthy.
I would say it has a good cost-performance ratio. Different tones and setups. Very good for beginners of the piano. The piano training app can perfectly sense its sounds. The included microphone also works well.

  • Not user friendly
Size: DDP-60 Color: Light Wood Grain
Expecting more for the price point. It supposedly hooks up to your tablet but it doesn't. Bought a cable that was not included to do that. It comes with a code for free software but none of it works. You need windows 7 and the app won't let you download the free software. Get a full featured Casio or well known brand. I dont want to say it is basic. It feels good and looks good the materials feel good but it's just basic. None of the promised software works. I want to like it but I feel like I am missing something with the software I am not getting and unclear instructions on functionality. ... show more
