I found the best price on Amazon and purchased here for 6 and 7 year old kids, I spent more than half the day putting the pcs together. all was good until we were finishing on the top roof, found one piece wasn't shaped precisely to hold the other two pcs, I think it was item 19? therefore, I didn't put the roof board on, just left on the floor, serving as a headboard-- good. the design and color make it beautiful and kids love it, I chose it because it has more protection on top bed; but I still feel a bit worried when I see it shaking with kids playing on it. hope it will last long enough one more thing worries me the most is the slats, one set is shorter than the other and just happened to be put on the top level and I have to keep telling the kids not to jump hard on top bed, it may easily fall off. since the shorter set has been nailed on already, I've been searching for a few pieces to add in the middle on the top level to make it safe for growing kids. hope I can get help on that and they should be 39" or 39.5" update: actually I noticed that a few slats in the middle are shorter than the ones on the two ends, don't know why it was made this way, should be the same length so the middles section won't fall down if kids are more active on it. Our two little boys love this bed. It is like a fort in their room. Overall I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and how easy it was to put together. It took my wife and I about three and half hours to put it together, and I consider myself fairly handy. There are A LOT of bolts. But the directions are pretty easy to follow. Once it was all together, it feels very solid and I don’t feel any wobble at all. I do remember the roof being a little tricky to get on. The provided slats are nice, but this definitely won’t support an average adult. My wife got up there to make the bed and the slats were quite bendy. (If any of you tell her I wrote this, expect a visit). I mean obviously they held and didn’t break - but I wouldn’t think you’d want to be up there more than once. ... show more

Easy to assemble between 2 people, 2 hours not counting prep work like clean up etc. My kids like it I added 2 handles near the top of the stairs so my 3 year old can get up safer and more confidently, she had a hard time at the top although shes a bit short for her age. If your a handy person and know woodwork this thing is great for customizing or adding on to it. I added lights inside and plan on copying the window for the bottom to make it nicer. It look fine in a smaller room since it’s just the size of a twin mattress and a 8ft ceiling. Everyone’s comments on fumes I don’t understand, it’s just a brand new smell like many things nothing crazy. If sturdiness is your concern you can reinforce it with metal braces or wood studs. Overall it’s nice easy to build and for handymen or women cool to add on your own touches. ... show more

Please make sure you have all the boxes; in total, there should be three boxes. I had several email correspondences with the company and gratefully they subsequently sent me the missing box. It was easy to assemble. I did it on my own with the exception of two steps. It took me several hours to accomplish but I began early. My sons wanted to sleep in the bed badly, so, I didn’t get a chance to finish (they are three and four years old). Top bunk will be their hangout spot. I found it helpful to use the power drill. I love the over all look and my sons love their new beds. The assembly wasn’t the worst but instructions were pictures only which make it a little difficult especially when you get to the end and have to screw directly into the wood with no markers or pre cut out holes and with no written instructions it left me stumped for a minute and had to call in some back up. It does take two to assemble and it takes a few hours. After it’s completely assembled it is kind of wobbly. When my kids climb up the ladder the whole thing sways. I like the look and added little rope lights but for the price this thing should be way more solid ... show more

We bought this bed in July of 21’ my kids have had respiratory issues off and on since. If I clean the mold area, the kids get better but after two months, it comes back. I believe the mold is coming from inside the wood. No where in the house or bedroom- do we have mold issues. Just the bed. I wish I would have contacted them right away with the musty smell it has when we first got it. It’s just to late for them to do anything about it. The bunk bed instructions are not as intuitive as initially thought. We were also missing parts to the bed (screws F/H), so we had to call for replacement parts. In the description, there was nothing about the need for a “bunkie-bed” to utilize the top bunk. (That is an added cost that we did not foresee.) The structure and materials are neat, but if you have the time and ability, I’d suggest buying $500 worth of lumber and building your own sturdier bunk bed. ... show more
