Our kid loves this bed! It is a LOW loft bed, so it doesn't rest as high as your typical top-bunk. If you're looking for something to place a desk/workspace under, this is NOT the right bed for you. But for smaller kids, it creates the perfect hideout for playing and reading. Everything arrived quickly, no missing pieces. The weathered gray finish is super cute and the whole thing was well-constructed. THE MOST IMPORTANT ADVICE I CAN GIVE YOU: Get a HEX-shape drill bit, and this thing will go together in a snap. Several weeks after I first ordered this bed it is finally assembled and functional. The wood it is made out of is soft and that's a problem because the screws can come through the painted finish without much resistance. More than that was the absolute junk finish that is on this bed. There were gashes and scars in the wood that they just tried to paint over. However, most pieces were only dusted with paint and the wood shows through in spots. Bottom line, this bed is pretty much trash and I question how long it will last On the one piece, they put the rollers for the drawer on the outside of the board and not the inside. It took a week to get a new board and the problem with that was that while they put the roller tracks on the proper side (inside) of the board, the rollers were at slightly different heights and so the drawers were crooked and smacked into each other. A new claim and another board arrived another week later but it was a board for the three drawer dresser and not the one I needed it for. They finally shipped me an entirely new two drawer/bookcase unit to assemble from scratch and while the quality was still terrible it at least was able to be assembled properly with working drawers. Oh, and also, the printed instructions were completely wrong in some places concerning where the dowels went and where the screws go. Reversed in some diagrams. If I should ever find a better quality bed in this height and type of configuration I will trash this one and start over. ... show more

    • Strong chemical odor
This combo seemed perfect for my 4 year old daughter’s small room. I loved that everything could be tucked away underneath, but the bed was still low enough that I’m not worried about her getting hurt. Didn’t experience the missing parts or issues that others have stated. Only one real issue during the build. The drawer bottoms for the dresser were too small which pretty much made the dresser useless until I bought replacements. There are no replacement parts available so the only other option would have been to dismantle the dresser and exchange it for a new one. But by far the biggest problem with this set is the really strong odor. It’s still there after a week and a half. My daughter has been bunking with her brothers and I’m not sure exactly when she can sleep in her own room. The warning label mentions the use of formaldehyde so I’m afraid to let her sleep in there with the door closed breathing it in all night long!!! I like the set and it’s already built so I wasn’t going to take it apart and return it but it is definitely scary to worry about the air quality! ... show more

This bed is perfect for my 9 year old. I thought we were purchasing just the bed. Instead we got the bed and all the shelves and drawers in the picture. Glad we did, the full set is so cute. It was very tedious to put together, but seems to be pretty sturdy. All three of my kids sit on it at times, and they probably weigh 230 put together. ... show more

The bed and other drawers and shelves are just cheap partial board. 3 of the bottoms were cut short and i had to go to home depot to buy a piece of wood have it cut exactly (bc of GF) and fit them correctly the way they should have came. if had such a strong smell that Im glad i don't have to sleep in that room. For the price get something different. go to a regular store and get it anything but this one. junk junk junk. ... show more
