We purchased a twin size for our 4 year old. It's very sturdy. Though, after a couple of months we have noticed some simple faults, but we do love the bed in any case. It's a little high with a 12" mattress for our 4 year old, but she loves it. After a couple of months she learned how to climb into the bed and refuses to use a step stool. She sleeps like a baby she used to be. Perfectly sturdy and easy to assemble. My husband did it by himself within 2 hours. After a couple months of use, we recognized she enjoys having this fun little space under the bed, which is a great place to store so much! We noticed she would kick up the metal slats that hold up the mattress, slip them out from their grooves. They are not attached securely... so this was a little unnerving. After explaining the dangers of the mattress squashing her (lol... we don't suger coat in this household), she stopped... immediately. Now it's not a problem, but we still want to find a permanent solution for safety... because kids "forget" the dangers. Next, we noticed the mattress just slides off... another danger we were concerned with as she jumps on and off the bed. There is no surrounding lip designed to hold the mattress securely in place. Our fix was simple. We purchased "Non slip mattress gaskets (set of 6)" (on Amazon) that hold the mattress in place so well! We highly recommend this addition with your purchase of this bed. The gaskets keep the mattress from sliding side to side. Now, we are very happy with the purchase of this twin size bed. Constructed really well with very sturdy parts (some exceptions as explained previously). It's classic design is Beautiful. So happy with it... esthetically pleased. I would say, this is probably a great mattress for older kids who do not move furniture around like ours...lol... otherwise, the slats are really sturdy in place and can hold a great amountof weight, but the slats can be pushed out of place easily by a 4 year old (pushing their strong Flintstone feet up onto the slat and pushing it out of place). The danger is that the metal slat may fall and hit a small child, or worse, they push out enough slats and the mattress collapses on top of them. So, definitely keep an eye on your child and often check under the bed. We're thinking of our permanent solution for our little one's new bed. Good quality and fair value. Very pretty bed. I would purchase again... the Queen or King size for our guest room after renovations, if the decorative style is headed in that direction. ************ 4-stars because the bed frame lacks a lip to hold the mattress in place. I won't take points off because I personally decided to purchase this bed for my crazy toddler... lol, very much, the design was ment for older children/adults. Sturdy and beautiful. [If anything changes, I will come back and update the review]. I have had this bedframe for about a month now. Assembly took a while, even with 2 people putting it together and 1 reading the instructions out. But it was still rather simple. The frame is incredibly sturdy! 2 adults sleep and relax on it and it has not shifted or made any noises. The only thing is that there is nothing keeping the mattress in place, so if you lean up on one side then it will slide. But it is just as easy to slide it back into place. I spent HOURS searching online for a good quality bedframe and am so glad I settled on this one. It has an extra high headboard. My mattress is pretty deep so I was concerned with other ones that the headboard would not feel tall enough. This one is perfect! It is, however, my first time not using the box spring. It would have been way too tall if we put both on. But only having the mattress and no box spring doesn't change the comfort at all. I highly recommend this frame, can't beat it for the price. ... show more

I was looking for this type of bed and read reviews of some of the cheaper ones and found that they all had complaints about either assembly or flimsy materials. I kept coming back to this one even though it only had 19 reviews at the time and a lot of those reviews were from people who got the bed for free. (how do I get on that list?) I finally decided on this one because everyone seemed to agree that it’s very sturdy. My husband and I aren’t petite and we wanted to make sure it would hold up as our current box springs we’re old and creaky and every time one of us would turn in our sleep it would wake the other up. We have a king size tempurpedic mattress with a 3 inch memory foam pad and since this is a platform type bed, we were able to ditch the box springs and there’s no difference in height because this bed is taller than our old bed frame. This thing is sturdy. I honestly can’t tell there’s anyone in the bed with me. It was delivered on the day it said it was going to be delivered on and other than needing my husband to carry the box into our bedroom, I put the whole thing together myself. All the pieces, parts and tools were there along with extras I didn’t need. I noticed one of the reviews said that the mattress slides around on the frame. I can see how that might happen with a smaller, lighter mattress, but with the weight of our king mattress, this thing is not going anywhere. Also appreciate all the room underneath for storage. I plan on getting a dust ruffle to hide all of our stuff and then this bed will be the perfect addition to our room. ... show more

The bed arrived a day earlier which is fantastic! We put our bed together and it was so easy. The directions are very clear and the pieces came nicely packaged and were all labeled easily. They even give you extra screws and bars. It looks so good and feels very sturdy. So far not one squeak! I read so many reviews on metal beds and this has by far exceeded my expectations! Love the way it turned out! Instructions were easy to understand and quality seems good. The only thing I would say it need is something on the edges of the frame to keep the bed from sliding. Other than that I love it!

Fairly easy to assemble...for my husband at least. We recently downsized and storage is a big part of it. I bought this bed specifically because I liked the looks and the clearance is good for storage. Does not disappoint. The bed is sturdy and does not squeak. I bought some baskets on wheels for underneath. I'm using my sleep number mattress which comes with the boxspring so the bed is a little high. When it comes time to replace our mattress, I'll probably go with one without a boxspring. Great purchase. ... show more
