We had the previous version of this panel from 2014 - 2022 when it got so many leaks it was more like a sprinkler than a water heater. Bought this thinking it would be a like for like replacement. Sadly, it is not. The 2.5' panels of the old one were solid except for small slits where it sat on the hooks for the hanging system. These, each 2.5' section has 4 smaller sections. It is absolutely horrible to work with and makes hanging it very difficult. I almost feel like we need to tape it all together on the back side to get them to all lay flat and not overlap one another. Three stars for crappy re-design of a product that used to be perfect. ... show more

Size: 5' x 10' Space Saver Collector Kit
Let me explain the four star review, as the product does work as advertised. I've very happy with how it helps keep the water temperature up. When it's hot outside, it can raise the temperature of the pool 3 or 4 degrees. The reason for the less than five star review is that I was rather surprised at how the panels are actually put together. When you get the box, you'll find the tubes rolled up and not something you could keep remotely flat. You have to build your own ramp, and while we anticipated this, the size in the picture looks a lot smaller than what you actually get. Our ramp ended up being over 6 feet tall and 11 feet wide. I guess I had assumed that based on the picture, they were going to arrive and be panel-ish, and not just molded plastic tubing rolled up. I'm pretty handy when it comes to woodwork, but my ramp was no where near as clean looking as the photo. Luckily we can keep in an area that is not in full view. While not an eye sore exactly, it certainly isn't pretty. ... show more

Size: 5' x 10' Space Saver Collector Kit
This was not a plug-n-play as I expected. I was replacing my older (different brand) panels with the higher rated/reviewed Doheny's. They do seem more robust but the size was not exact. My old panels were 2x10 and these were listed as 2x10 panels. It is actually 1 1x10 panels. No problem right..?.. wrong because there is a connector between each set. Therefore where I could fit 2 - 2ft panels, I could now only fit 3 - 1ft panels. Another FYI, the piping is all 1 1/4" connection where as all of my piping is 1 1/2". Not a big deal, just need a few other plumbing items from the local Home Depot. This system will demand a bit more from your motor, probably reflected in my next power bill but definitely worth it. Besides this, they work as advertised. The water coming through the jets was definitely warmer to the touch - I think I gained 5 degrees and had the panels on for 3 hours. If I left the system running all day, I'm sure I could get 10 degrees. ... show more

I have sent seller a message so we will see if they make it right. But it's only been installed about 2 months and the plastic already broke leaving it useless.

Looks very sturdy, not used yet as season has not started. Needs 2 people to mount. You need double the mounting brackets that you think you would need, as each section is two sections and each section needs their own brackets as they sag if not. So, you need 4 sets of mounting brackets to make it work well. ... show more

Not easily installed, and DEFINITELY requires a bypass valveโ€ฆ.which the included parts are NOT equipped to handle.

Did not work very well for me at all The reviews I read said it warmed their pool at least 10ยฐ but did not work that well for me at all. Iโ€™m going to see if I can return it. I do not feel it was worth the money at all.

This solar heater is a good value for the money. It reliably raises the temp of our pool by 7-10 degrees on sunny days. We did have to purchase additional tubing and attachments to make sure the solar panels can be in the sun. Also, we chose to stretch it on the grass and we have to move it at least every other day or it burns the grass. Overall, glad we bought it. ... show more
