After adding the AirTag to our dog’s new collar five days ago, we put it on her and jumped into the car for a vacation in CO. Unfortunately that night in our rental property the smoke alarm started chirping at 4 am like the battery was dead. And kept chirping ever 5 seconds. We couldn’t just change the battery ourselves because the people that installed the alarm put it on a wall 16 feet up from stairs that a normal V shaped latter would not fit. (when they got at our rental owner’s manager actually had to buy a new ladder to get to the thing.) They finally got there at 5:30 when dusk was settling in. Unfortunately they left the door open and our dog ventured out. She has never run away in her entire life so we were in utter shock to discover her gone. She’s spunky but she’s 16 years old and is mostly deaf and definitely not as sharp as she was as a puppy. Our rental is in the Rocky Mountain forest and the rentals around us and the area is practically deserted area (off-season) and darkness had grown black. After my initial panic I pulled out my phone. Service is intermittent in the mountains and we couldn’t pinpoint in the dark from her collar but we could get pretty close It took 90 minutes and a call to a police to ask if someone with a flashlight could help. The friendly policeman with his flashlight found in him 10 minutes. We had been close to our dog before but she hadn’t answered our calls. When we found her, she was so traumatized she acted like she barely knew us. She was dirty and unharmed on someone’s empty house deck that was fenced to give her some protection. She had been smart enough to find about as safe a place as she could in the forest. There is no doubt in my mind that she wouldn’t have survived the night with bears roaming the forests. I might add that this was first time I had ever used AirTags and was successful even my unfamiliarity and being 66 years old! What possessed me to replace her perfectly fine collar that she’d worn for 8 years last week, I’ll never know. But thank goodness I did. If you’re hesitating on buying…don’t. ... show more

This collar fits my 5lb chihuahua well. He seems comfortable with it on. When I take it off after he’s been wearing it for a while, my dog isn’t overly relieved to have it removed. Similarly, when I put it on he doesn’t fuss or seem to dislike it. He has napped with the collar on and doesn’t seem bothered by it. The AirTag popped into place and seems pretty secure. This collar is durable with normal wear. I would not recommend attaching it to a leash, especially if your dog pulls. I use a harness when walking my dog. This collar is just used to ensure my dog has his dog tags and AirTag while outside. ... show more

Such a cute collar, but not great for a dog who pulls. I purchased this about 2 weeks ago. I have a lead outside for my dog to play on and I assume something got her attention and she ran. Her collar was still connected to the lead and laying in the yard. It scared me since the AirTag was no longer connected to her. It’s just not as durable as reviews make it seem. I looked a lot into these collars before purchasing. The part that holds the AirTag is like a rubber material and it just snapped. For reference, my dog is 45 pounds. Not huge. The media could not be loaded. I really like the design of this collar, I've been a fan of this brand of collars but this one I am not. The collar it self doesn't come apart.
