This brush is a great idea! My dog seems to like how it feels and will let me brush him with it. I appreciate the self-cleaning feature, though I think it might work better for dogs with thicker coats. It didn’t pick up much hair off of Noodle (admittedly, he doesn’t shed very much) so when there were just a few hairs on the brush, the self-cleaning function didn’t push them off effectively.     • Didn’t get much hair off but my cats love it
My cats are very picky about brushes, so I was excited to try this one. The bristles are spread out with rounded massaging tips, and the brush moved smoothly through both my short hair and long hair cats’ fur. Other brushes’ bristles sometimes seem a little sharp or pointy, but I had no concerns about the safety of this brush and it seemed very comfortable for my cats. It didn’t get a ton of hair off of either my short hair or long hair cat, but both of them LOVED this brush. They both were purring and head butting me, and wanted me to keep going far longer than they usually allow me to brush them for. The brush has a nice nonslip grip and the self cleaning mechanism makes it very easy to remove hair from the bristles. This brush isn’t the best for actually getting loose hair off of my cats, but the massaging tips have given me two very happy cats. ... show more

    • Well made, but better for long haired pets
This brush is well made and the cleaning mechanism is easy to use - just push a button on the back and the front plate slides up to push all of the hair out. I have a short-haired dog and when I tried it on her, the brush did not pick up much hair. She did seem to like the scratchiness of the bristles though. Overall, it seems well made, but I don't see much benefit for a dog with short hair. ... show more

It's no Furminator (an overly priced dog brush that works really well), but keep in mind this is only $9. It works better on my dog that has a thicker coat; it doesn't get much hair off my dog with the thinner coat, but it still works and does the job well enough! And plus, it has an easy push-mechanism thats helpful for getting all the hair off the brush. ... show more

Had to test this out for its hair removal feature! Fantastic! It makes hair removal off the brush so easy. The brush helps comb out loose hair off your pet and makes it easy to dispose the hair off the brush by pushing the button on the brush wich pushes all the hair out! If you don't like cleaning hair off brushes this one is for you! ... show more

At first, I thought it was just me... Tried this brush on my pug who does nothing but shed when he's not eating or sleeping. I have another one of these brushes that does a great job but needs to be replaced. Out of the box, this brush looked quite promising. It's built very well and has a nice, gripping handle that is easy to grab. However, upon brushing my dog, I found that not much hair was being picked up. I usually get some nice clumps of fur on the first pass with my older brush. This? Didn't grab much at all. As I said, I thought it was just me. Then I read other reviews here which brought to light similar experiences and I realized that this particular self-cleaning brush isn't entirely up to the task. ... show more

    • Doesn't work well on long haired cats
First off, the brush looks and feels nice. I expected great things, it feels durable and well made. The self cleaning feature works great. Now, I've tried this on all three of my cats and it's not a good brush. It barely removes any hair which is really odd. My cats always shed (I have two Persians). I think the bristles are spaced too far apart or something? I'm really not sure why it doesn't work; maybe it would work better on a dog. Would recommend looking for another brush rather than this one. ... show more

    • Sturdy construction but doesn't get much hair off my cat
I enjoy the push mechanism to remove hair and overall, this brush feels quite sturdy in my hands. However, this doesn't seem to pick up much hair from my cat after trying it on several occasions. I have a feeling it's due to the bristles being spaced far too apart and maybe those with much longer-haired cats or dogs would have more luck.
