    • The Prongs Keep Falling Out
We have a wriggly and muscular nine month old heeler mix and even when we get it tight, he's sometimes able to lose a prong on this collar. So far, we were lucky enough to find them. We tried the shock on ourselves first to know what the right setting was, but we haven't had to use it--we've trained him to come to get a treat at the sound plus vibration. If he's really really distracted, he doesn't come yet, but I'm not ready to zap him yet. Still trying to build in the positive reinforcement side first more strongly. Hope we don't lose the prongs as I'd like to have this around for a long time. ... show more

My boy is hard headed unfortunately, and when he wants to go he goes. Well this shocking collar has turned our world upside down for the better. I always try to warn him first with the vibration, and he ignores me after that he gets a small shock. The collar has worked perfect since the day we got it. The battery life is amazing. He wears it around 3 to 4 hours a day. It’s a simple one push button to turn the collar on. I always test it by vibrating it before putting in on my pup to prevent accidents.     • Nice Inexpensive 3 Way Training Collar
I have used electric training collars for specific training issues with my German Shepherds for years and have found that the inexpensive variety has improved tremendously. Recently I fostered a dog for a friend who was having health issues. The dog is a soft sweetheart but had definite recall issues. I have an expensive system I use with my dogs but thought I should provide my friend with a system in case the dog needed a refresher at some point. The thing I like about my own system is that it has a rheostat like knob to adjust the correction level with great granularity. This allows quick precise changes without all kinds of button inputs. This important because you may have to quickly adjust based on the dog's changing excitement level. This Aibors transmitter uses a similar control knob which I have not seen on a budget training collar. system. The receiver on the dog has a light across the front that makes power on confirmation simple. Battery life is very good. The 3 transmitter Beep, Vibration and Shock modes are clearly indicated on the front making their use intuitive. This was a soft dog that only required the Beep and Vibration modes but I tested (on myself) the Shock mode to see that the changes in correction level were reliable which used to be an issue with inexpensive training collars. There are only a few small issues that kept me from giving it 5 stars. While the 3 front mode buttons are clearly marked the same is not true of the side adjustment buttons. These buttons need to be pressed to lock the transmitter and activate the adjustment knob to adjust vibration or shock levels. They have no contrast and are near impossible to see as they just blend in with the background. You will just memorize them but if someone unfamiliar with the transmitter will have difficulty. The transmitter is on the long side with no provision for attaching a lanyard which would keep the transmitter handy as it needs to be. Stuck in a shirt pocket it will slide out. The transmitter charges via a standard USB C port but the receiver uses a proprietary magnetic connector. This keeps the receiver sealed against the elements but if misplaced you will be unable to charge the receiver. That said it works well and is well worth the price. ... show more

We've been having some trouble with one of our dogs lately. He's decided he's going to get into the trash can and dump everything out all over the kitchen. It's happened numerous times and he refuses to listen to the "leave it" command. So, shock collar it is. Fortunately, we haven't had to use the shock feature. The beeping option is usually enough to get him to stop. On rare occasions, we'll use the vibrate option but typically, the beeping is enough to stop him from doing things he's not supposed to. ... show more

This was super easy for my husband to set up. So far so good. It goes from 1-100 in terms of intensity and I love the digital display. It makes for a better appearance. The quality is wonderful, we have a 70lb Bully who is all muscle and he can’t get this thing off. The sound (beeping) does the trick and we almost never have to buzz him. The range is hard to tell because he stays in the yard with it and maybe 75 feet away is the furthers but it works no problems ... show more

    • Solving the Bunny Issue
We’ve been overrun with rabbits and our chihuahua/beagle has been going insane. We had tried everything to get her to stop barking at them; shaking cans of coins, squirt her with a water bottle, reward her with treats when she is quiet. Nothing has worked. Until now. This collar has been a godsend. She only weighs 20 pounds and has very short fur so we don’t use the prongs for shocking, which is fine since that would be hard for me to do to her. But the ‘beep’ and the vibration settings are really doing the job. Sometimes we just need the beep, but when the baby bunnies are out we have to use the vibration which really throws her off and gets her to stop immediately. I’m not a big fan of the control settings, They aren’t very intuitive and take too much time to figure out. When you want to up the intensity you want to do it quickly. The other criticism is that there is no wrist strap and it’s a little too big for a pocket. When I’m walking the dog it makes it difficult to use effectively. Other than that it has really helped teach our girl some self control. It’s also a bit bulky for a 20 pound dog, but I have yet to find one that isn’t. All in all very much worth it. ... show more
