Our first grader, who reads at a 2nd grade level, loves these books! She got one randomly for Christmas, and decided recently to open it up. Well, she couldn't put it down! So I immediately ordered this box set, and she's been reading ever since. We're currently out of school (quarantine time in our state), so it's been a great way for her to keep reading. It has even inspired her to write her own comics. As a Language Arts teacher myself, I love the idea of getting kids into reading using graphic novels. They're great for reading comprehension, staying engaged, and learning new ideas. They cover all the major things we expect our kids to get out of reading, and hit all the major learning targets. There's no downside, in my academic opinion, and this is a great start for her age! ... show more

I cannot describe how happy these books make my 6 year old son. He's always enjoyed being read to, but since starting this series and The Bad Guys series, his independent reading has soared. I hear him laughing hysterically reading to himself every night after I tuck him in. My husband reads part to him every night, but then he reads them over and over again afterwards. When he read part of it out loud to me tonight I was blown away at how fluent he's become at reading and sounding out words! They're silly and that's why he loves them. He just happily reads and reads and reads them which is why I love them! ... show more

This was requested by my ten years old daughter as a Christmas gift but she uses her phone and switch too much so I decide to get it early because all the device usage was driving me nuts.i confiscated her devices,turn wifi off,give her a set time and it all made her act out which I didn't like ...she literally got these books an hour ago ,rushed in her bed and started reading omg success! My five year old grand son loves to read the Doyman books . He had two, read them off in no time so I got him the collection. He was elated, he could not wait to open his package. He read the Dogman 22, but he said he will give the new one that comes in the package to his baby brother who is three weeks old😅😅😅—he is going to put it down for him ... show more
