I bought this to deshed my Nebelung cat as she had some lingering under coat that was starting to look a little ratty and thick. She loves this brush until you get to the lower hind end where her hair is thicker and you can feel the resistance of the hair in the brush getting into tougher area. It can pull roughly and that's when the claws come out. So I proceed very slowly and talk sweetly and she allows the brushing without a problem. You cannot just start brushing a cat vigorously like a dog. She's not a fan of her belly brushed so I use a Trimmer to keep her bottom and belly clean. I absolutely reccomend this product especially at this price point for a great product that does the job well. First of all, please remember there is a blade inside, so do not rake your dog or cats. There is no need to press hard. It Works very well the handle is great no slipping it pulls hair. One side is for detangling. The other side is for shedding.. It truly does remove the hair with ease. I have a Shih Tzu this is a must have tool. However, I gave him his last cut for the year so right now it’s only pulling so much off of him but even so It is still pulling hair! And with a Shih Tzu if you do not regularly every day, brush your dogs hair they can very easily get tangled or matted. I highly recommend this tool you will not regret it. ... show more

I got this in the mail less than an hour ago and I’m already making a review that it’s amazing! I have four long haired cat (Persian, Rag Doll, and two pound cats) and I do all of their grooming myself. All the groomers in my area won’t see cats unless they have dozens of unnecessary vaccines and I’m not about that life. If you know, you know! Anyway, this is the best comb/brush I have found and I have many. My Persian even had a few mats forming even though she was combed out two days ago and this brush got them out so easily. I’d recommend spraying the brush or the area of the cat first with a detangling spray so that it doesn’t get staticky and pull too hard on the skin/fur. Highly recommend!! ... show more

This shedding and dematting tool comes with a comb to help remove matts. Unfortunately, my cat does not like the feel of it when I try to use the dematting side of the tool. I have a cockadoodle (cocker spaniel/poodle mix) that I groom at home (salon was getting way too expensive). His hair is very rough, curly, and tangles easily. I keep his body and ears trimmed fairly short using clippers, but his tail has been left long. I noticed he was starting to get some mats in his tail, and the metal comb was too painful to get them out. Figured I’d try this dematting rake, but wasn’t expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised; it worked like a charm. You still have to be careful to hold the fur near the skin to not pull too much, but dang! After brushing his entire tail, it’s smooth, and I pulled off a large double handful of fur. It took probably 5 minutes to get it done, so it didn’t stress him out too much (he doesn’t like having his tail messed with at all). Don’t even waste your time reading this review- buy it!!! We have 3 cats, no carpet inside and I’m a bit of a clean freak. No matter what I do or how much I vacuum there is always cat hair! Sometimes it will literally blow by like tumbleweeds. lol I’ve tried another brush in the past and all 3 cats hated it. It just wasn’t worth the hassle and fuss to get a few strokes in before they were absolutely not having it. So, I quit trying and kept feverishly vacuuming daily. Then our oldest, very furry, chunky cat in the photo started getting mats! I was distraught and turned to Amazon. I almost skipped this one over -due to how inexpensive it is! But, then I took to the reviews. Man, blown away!!! It removes SO MUCH HAIR!! EVERY SINGLE DAY- sometimes twice daily! It is unbelievable! And my vacuum? Well, it has finally been given a well deserved break! They have a nice weight and are easy to hold and maneuver- plus you get a comb and a brush! Either of these items sold individually you fetch far more in price! (Let’s hope they don’t read this)! Strokes smoothly, but you do have to be gentle. Especially if any of your cats have a little extra weight/rolls. Seriously, these should be used with care. They’re attractive for what they are and the kicker is all 3 of our cats love them. We take them outside supervised twice daily and they all come for brush time. They’ve actually lined up or butted next in line. It’s amazing. I don’t know what else to say except this is one of the best purchases I can remember making in a very long time. Truly saying something! Try it. While this pet grooming brush works very well to remove the winter undercoat of fur and any loose hair from your pet, I have found another equally important use for it. I bought one for our cat for which it works very well and realized it would also easily clean the hair from his other brushes. It cleaned the brushes effortlessly. I bought a second brush in purple color to clean my wife's hair brushes which get full of hair and it worked better than other hair brush cleaners that I've bought in past. It's well worth the money for either use. It is built very sturdy. As a pet brush it works very well to remove loose hair, but be careful to only to make light strokes as it will makes knots if you go too deep in a single stroke. If used as intended with only light strokes, it will do a great job of grooming your pet. ... show more
