This is a really nice jacket for the price point. Let's face it, I am hard on winter jackets. I have an Eddie Bauer and two Colombia winter jackets that have recently failed. To be fair, the Eddie Bauer is over twenty years old and one of the Colombia jackets was ripped by a dogs claw. The zipper is a common point of failure on two of them. The zipper on this jacket seems secure. I am less enthused about the Velcro closures around the zipper, not a real fan of Velcro. This jacket is waterproof, helping to cut the wind. I appreciate the inner pocket for a wallet and a similar outer pocket for sundry items. Two large regular side pocket hold gloves, hat, keys, and any other items.     • Great buy despite the wrinkles
It is very warm and fits perfectly. My husband loves it. But there were sooooo many wrinkles from packing. They wouldn’t come out after hanging it then spraying it down and drying it on the lightest setting. I had to use a very cool iron even though it says not to. And it worked. Now it looks great!!!     • Warm and dry!
We ordered this coat for my son to go skiing. The fit was perfect, he's 135 lb and about 5'9. He loved the zipper pockets to hold phone/wallet. They are very secure. The coat was warm for a chilly evening on the slopes, and more importantly it kept him dry! I would definately recommend this coat!

    • Pretty nice but the furry hood isn't great.
I got this on special for 33.99 which is a pretty good price for a water(proof?) jacket. It is basically a ski/snowboard coat. It's nice. Seems like good material. The hood's not great I will say that. It's not horrible either. I might cut down the furriness a little I think that will help. It barely fastens around my neck but does. The hood does not exactly fit my head and I need a hood in PDX. Overall I would give thumbs up. For the price I think it's pretty....ok. I am worried about zipper problems from the bad reviews. I will try to pull it on if possible I think. Between 3.5 to 4 stars I guess.---> Update Update days later...this coat is really nice so far you know...the hood is still not great but not horrible...It's warm...zippers are ok...decent material...looks pretty good....GOOD STUFF MAYNARD!...more to follow if anything happens...ok I've worn it for a few weeks now the weather's cold and it is really nice...and warm. Not sure if it is warm enough for skiing but it is perfect for winter in the PNW. Waterproof outside lining with a soft and warm inner lining. I would definitely recommend.

I bought this for my husband for Christmas. I gave it to him early bc he needed something warm to wear in this attic cold air in Michigan. I searched for a long time and through so many different coats that was in my husbands want list in a coat. This coat is everything he wanted. It fits him perfect and he just loves it! He said this coat actually does keep him warm enough to where he is not shivering and shaking. This is a huge deal! The one he really wanted was so much more then coat and this one is the same coat just different brand name and it was soooooo much cheaper. It is not made cheap at all. He is sooo happy I found this one and bought it for him. Oh and when it says it is water resistant, it means it. The water just beats off the jacket like water does when you put rainx on your windshield. I definitely recommend this coat to anyone that wants a coat that keeps you warm during the winter. ... show more

Outer shell is better than expected, not as soft or thin as the expensive brands but nise for the cost. All seams are solid, well built. Wasn't sure I liked the Velcro tabs on flap over the zipper until it started raining really hard. I never use a hood so it zipping off was a +. The sizing was what I expected and the Velcro and elastic sleeves are nice. All things considered I would buy it again. ... show more
