The Disney Cars Stereo Play-a-Sound Book enables children to experience sights and sounds from the Disney movie Cars in stereo. The interactive storybook, designed for children ages 18 months and older, comes with attached stereo speakers and a 10-button sound module. Each vividly illustrated two-page spread features an icon that matches one of the buttons on the sound module. As kids read about Lightning McQueen, Doc Hudson, Mater, and the rest of the gang, they press the sound buttons to play extended sound effects. Each stereo-quality sound effect lasts 10 to 20 seconds. My 2 1/2 year old son absolutely loves this book. It follows the Cars movie, but I like that each individual page talks about how a particular character works into the storyline - easy for kids to follow. We've read this book almost every night for 6 months now - a sure hit.

    • Wow, is this ever LOUD!
My 2 1/2 yr old son enjoys this book. The pictures are fun, and the sounds are okay (there's no talking, just music and road noise). However, I was overwhelmed by how RIDICULOUSLY LOUD this book is. If my son is using it in his bedroom upstairs, with the door shut, we can still hear it downstairs. I had to put tape over both the speakers to bring it to a normal sound level. Overall a decent book. One plus: It uses 3 AAA batteries, so you don't have to buy one of those small expensive watch batteries when the batteries need to be replaced. ... show more

    • Cute, but it was not new like advertised...
This book is really cute but I'm disappointed that it was used. I purchased this as new. There were scuff marks on the cover, as well as adhesive residue from where stickers had been peeled off. Also there was no wrapping and the book was just thrown in a box. I wouldn't have minded buying a used book if I knew it was from the start, but listing it as new and sending me a book that isn't seems shady to me. ... show more
