Got this for my four-year-old who is absolutely fascinated with tornadoes since watching Wizard of Oz. He has been playing with it almost daily since he got it. He especially loves putting the "debris" in it which are included. We have also been using food coloring in the water to give it some more appealing and fun colors to enjoy. Decent demonstration model for the price. My 4 year old turns it on every morning during breakfast to watch it for a few minutes each day. The top cap does not screw on though, and it will leak if tipped or not carried carefully. The noise is gimmicky and only lasts a few seconds, but that wasn't a factor in choosing this over the 2L bottle connector type of water funnel demo kits. ... show more

My kid has gotten great pleasure from this tornado machine. The plastic and foam “debris” make it more interesting and educational than just a plain water tornado tube toy.

    • Works good. Batteries die fast!
We got this tonight and my son has been using it Non-Stop. This is not something that gets carried around because it can fall over and spill so you must instruct your children it's good for tables or on the floor. We put in three brand new batteries and it did not last more than 2 hours with continuous use. My son turned it on and enjoyed sitting with it while he did other things or coloring while it was on the desk with him but it died very quickly. Going through three brand new batteries every couple hours is not very efficient and it's very upsetting to children because you have to pour the water out to safely replace the batteries so it's a bit of a mess every time you have to swap them. They should have made built-in rechargeables to make this last longer so at least could go one evening when they're in bed or something like that. ... show more
