Excellent product that handles iron in the water and stops the staining/obstruction of appliance. No scale showing up on my new stainless steel appliances. We are on a wall with lots of calcium and some iron. I can tell the product is working. Not an expensive monthly cost to prevent damage to piping and appliances.     • Cleanest Salt available for water softener
While I did not purchase this salt on Amazon, Diamond is the brand I have always used. The installer of our water softener showed me a demo of the dirt and debris found in other salt brands, so I have stuck with this brand. It tends to be a bit more expensive than other brands, but is readily available at assorted big box stores for about $6.50/bag. The price on Amazon is very steep, so buyer beware. This is a great product but I don't know why anyone would pay this price! it can be found at Tractor Supply and other local stores for about $7 a 40lb bag. This is an exorbitant price!
