My son wanted this for his room so he can have extra space in his bedroom since he shares a room with his brother. He loves this bed and he’s going to be getting a monitor for the desk so he can play his games while sitting under his bed. It’s the perfect set up for any kid that needs some extra space in their room. This thing went together really easy I had no issues at all and I put it up all by myself. Everything was packaged very well so it didn’t get scratched up and the instructions were very easy to follow plus it’s pretty sturdy. I’ve put together other beds before and the instructions was a nightmare this one was very easy and straight forward. So I purchased this exact loft bed frame in a FULL size (Black) for myself over a year ago and love it. A great bed for what I needed and I plan on using it for years to come.. I am 26 years old 5'4" and 155lbs and it's sturdy. My nice loved to barge into my loft bed room and come up into my bed so I decided to buy her this one. The twin in silver and she doesn't barge into my room much anymore haha. She loves it. We initially got her a more flimsy loft bed with a lot of shelving but it was too cheep and most of the shelves collected trash. So getting her this exact one was the best choice. She uses her desk for school classes and homework on her chromebook, has come crafts things on the triangular shelving as well as a lamp and some little statues. Because of the extra space in the back we ended up getting her a gigantic bean bag which holds snugly against both of the ladders and gives her enough space to still use her desk. She's 11 years old around 4'5" and 70lbs or so and just like mine it is sturdy as ever. Having the bars up top are also perfect for her to properly surround her with all her massive dragon stuffed animals without them falling off her bed at night. The double ladders are also great so she has two entryways up to her bed one by the bathroom and the other facing the center of the room and the ladder is flat and wide enough that it doesn't hurt her feet like her older one did. Overall we are both very satisfied with these beds, they're easy to assemble but it does take a while to do. I assembled both her TWIN and my FULL on my own with out too much hassle. but again it did take around 1-2 hours. ... show more

Created a lot of floor space and my daughter loves it. The desk is the perfect size for arts and crafts + homework. It does wobble a bit but not much. She’s about 65lbs. No issues with damage or scratches I saw reported with black version. Easy to assemble. Took about 2 hours with 2 people. I moved to a small efficiency apartment in NYC to be closer to my office. I need an office space in my apartment, but don't have the square footage. After looking at several photos of well-designed efficiency apartments, I saw several ideas that made sense to me. My building has plaster walls (and who knows what's back there), so I was limited to ideas that don't screw through the walls. I saw several photos online of loft bed designs that were similar to my decor goals. Caveats for a lofted bed no matter the model 1) You are going to be at least 5 feed above the floor. This isn't a trivial height. It requires using either the built in ladders or a separate stand alone ladder to get into bed at night. If you're on medications, or go out for a night on the town, BE CAREFUL. 2) Make sure you have the head space for the bed first. If your ceilings are low, this is the WRONG choice for you. Banging your head or hand in the ceiling is not a good way to relax before going to sleep. However, if you have the right kind of space, this is an absolutely awesome, stylish choice for an apartment. The DHP Abode Full-Size Loft Bed comes with a desk and two built in ladders. The box is HEAVY. So, delivery through Amazon was awesome! (Someone else had to haul it up 3 flights.) The bed and desk comes in a pretty tightly packed box, so it fits up old, pre-war stairways or in elevators. The bed comes with a full set of instructions. I highly recommend reading all the instructions before starting the assembly process. Careful planning on the assembly greatly helped make this process easier than many flat pack assemblies. I recommend using your own tools if you can. While the bed comes with a small wrench, etc., I recommend investing in a small assembly toolkit - you and your hands will thank you. After assembling the bed, I was able to install the desk and two shelves. Be careful not to over-tighten the screws. The screws are exactly the right length. Any more, and you'll push through the surface! What I like - Clear Instructions with the fasteners grouped for pre-assembly planning - Metal frame is solid but not crazy heavy. - Unique mattress "box-spring" idea using dozens of metal rods (very clever) What I don't like - The ladders are very narrow - somewhat of a nuisance to get up and down if you're older than 10. I bought a separate black stand-alone ladder to use. It does have 2 built in ladders (one on the side and one at the foot) that are part of the supporting frame. - No adjustments for the top mattress rails. You're stuck with the height it comes in. Not a big issue if you're aware of it up front. ... show more
