My son wanted this for his room so he can have extra space in his bedroom since he shares a room with his brother. He loves this bed and he’s going to be getting a monitor for the desk so he can play his games while sitting under his bed. It’s the perfect set up for any kid that needs some extra space in their room. This thing went together really easy I had no issues at all and I put it up all by myself. Everything was packaged very well so it didn’t get scratched up and the instructions were very easy to follow plus it’s pretty sturdy. I’ve put together other beds before and the instructions was a nightmare this one was very easy and straight forward. Put it together myself but recommend two people to speed up assembly. Instructions were very easy to follow and everything was organized/packaged well. No missing pieces but it also comes with an “extras pieces” package in case you misplace any. It’s quite sturdy and a great space saver.     • Love it but it's creaking by day 3 and I only weigh 180 + 80lb mattress.

GOOD: came with all the parts, extra screws and plastic caps, screwdriver, nice! Some parts are fairly heavy and hard to balance on your shoulder while screwing in, second person would really help. Instructions are easy to understand for someone who grew up building Lego's. BAD: Some parts seemed to be printed slightly off by a couple millimeters or centimeters. I had to wedge the side gaurd rail into the foot rail with all my strength to get it aligned with the screw hole on the ladder. Same where the desk meets the rear supports, I can't get the final screw in to the desk as it seems to be half an inch away on the support. NO WASHERS FOR THE BOLTS! Bought this as it seemed to have the highest weight capacity for a loft here. It's already creaking but I'm going to attempt to add washers and longer higher grade bolts to accommodate. Love the design but doesn't feel entirely sturdy and the screw alignment issues worry me that I got a defective set. 4 stars for now, 5 if I can get the final screw in the desk and stop the creaking, 0 if the creaking gets worse or anything fails due to the desk not being able to screw in. ... show more

Easy to put together, with my husband took less than an hour and a half. No snags, instructions are easy to follow. The box came extremely late and was very damaged, cardboard was ripped open in several places. There was only a few small scuff marks on one pole, not enough to worry about so I blame it on the postal service. The sturdiness of the bed is questionable compared to the other DHP bed that I own. I also have a twin loft with an X shaped frame. It is extremely sturdy and never shakes at all even when I climb it (170 lbs.) Since this one is a full size and has a square corner frame I understand that it would not be quite as solid, but I was hoping for a little better. It bangs on the wall then my 7 yer old climbs it. We carefully tightened the bolts during assembly and we used all the plastic pieces in the correct spots, but I will go back through and retighten today and see if that helps. Also the ladder is metal, of course it hurts to climb, so I will be adding padding to it today. Love this design, this is a total space saver in my kids room. It is a well made product and I will continue to buy from DHP in the future. ... show more

We bought this bed for my (now) 15 year old boy (6'3" tall) and it is the envy of all of his friends. He has a small room 11x10 and it makes the most of the space. The ceiling is only 8' and he can lean up in bed - not a full sit but it doesn't seem to bother him. It is sturdy enough for him though you will have some shake while climbing up and down. I had a friend from a government safety agency check it out and he said it meets all the safety standards. You should periodically double check the screws to be sure they haven't loosened. My son used a strip of LED lights installed under the bed to help with the lighting issue (it is dark underneath) and we used 2 black plastic floor mats for his normal size desk chair to roll on so nearly the whole area under the bed is covered by the mats (the room is carpeted). The desk is a bit higher than normal so be sure you measure seat height when getting a desk chair to try to keep all things ergonomically correct. The desk is a bit narrow -- we mounted his computer screen on the wall to free up space. We also used some bed buddy trays attached to the side so he had a place to put bedside items. Further, at a home improvement store, you can find a remote control to control normal lamps etc so turning off light after getting into bed is a breeze. We use full size sheets and comforter on top of his "old" mattress set in the frame. Since he's older, we did not worry about him rolling out/off the bed. It did come in one large box that probably weighs close to 100 pounds. If the bedroom is upstairs, two people will have to carry the box because its awkward. You do want to assemble the bed in the room its going into. With the size of our room, we made sure everything else was removed as we assembled the bed. It is slightly movable once assembled (to snug into a corner) but you wouldn't want to move it very far. ... show more
