Description

The DEWALT DWE1622K 2" 2-Speed Magnetic Drill Press features a 10 amp motor with 2-speed settings that provide optimal performance in a variety of applications. This press has overload protection electronics which prevent motor damage and excess accessory wear designed for long life. A Quick Change chuck system allows for tool free change between 3/4" Weldon Shank and 1/2" keyed chuck, and the Quick Release feed handles provide tool free change of handles to either side of the tool. The magnetic self feed cooling tank allows the user to regulate the flow of cooling fluid and can be placed on either side of tool or on a work surface to allow for a variety of tool orientations. 4" Drill travel offers maximum capacity for heavy duty applications, along with a motor height adjustment that gives greater range of accessory compatibility. Includes: DWE1622 Drill Press, Safety chain, and Height adjustment tool, Quick change 1/2-in keyed chuck, Kit box.

Absolutely great tool. Tons of power, the gibs are nice and snug, all the parts fit... I've used a number of other mag drills. Most recently an Evolution and a Jancy Slugger. This is a better tool by far. To those who are complaining about wobble in the quick release either got a bad fit, have damaged/worn out cutters, or just have no idea what this tool is for. The new annular cutters I bought fit perfectly in the quick release and have very little runout. This is NOT a drill press or a milling machine. A few thousandths of runout is normal and acceptable in this kind of tool. That said, it drills VERY true. So far I've punched holes in a bunch of 1/4 and 3/8 mild plate, flange and web of a 10W22, and a bunch of smaller stuff. Absolutely zero complaints. Quick release handle is a great feature. By moving the drill body up on the slide you can use the included 1/2" chuck and NORMAL length twist drill bits. No need to buy a set of stubbies just for this tool. That's a big deal and a huge savings. Mag base grips well and holds the drill in any position. Travel on the powerhead is about 4" so plenty to drill holes in as thick a material as you have bits/cutters for. Overall I couldn't be happier. There are bigger/badder units out there but they are in the $2500 and up price range. For under a grand this is the one. ... show more

I bought this for a one time project and figured I'd sell it when done. Nope, I really liked the versatility and used it a handful of times more and I'm sure more in the future. I bought an annular cutter set plus have silver and deming drills and it handles both equally. It does have enough travel for those drill bits. I would prefer even slower speed for the drills but the annualars don't seem to mind the speed. Magnet is very strong and is easy to turn on and off. The case is very nice and this is one tool I keep in the case because it stores better that way and isn't used often enough. Some of the listings say 220V but it was 110V. ... show more

This mag drill is awesome. I bought this for my welding department and it is going to save a lot of time. It cuts clean accurate holes that are straight with no burr. The cutting oil system works well. I don't have to worry about my guys forgetting to apply oil. I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

Before this one, I had an Evolution S42 which it was not bad but their service/warranty would not works in Puerto Rico. Glad I did made the switch! This one is far better built, more powerful and they do have warranty in Puerto Rico.
