when you have have good tools , they just feel right in the hand. if you compare with what i have from the same group of companies,,, it feels right... they should share the battery platform for better use. they do generic batteries for use with their gadgets. perfect combo purchase. makes drilling much more easy and faster.... right and light, but powerful. 5* ... show more

My old drill was slowly dying so I was researching a replacement. This set was great. Both drill and impact driver and bag. Came with two chargers and batteries. I have used them for a few months before writing this review and they work great. I highly suggest this combo kit.

I got two of these because I had to return the first one since the impact driver smoked and smelled like burning when I ran it. When I got the second one, I had the same problem. You can clearly see the sparks inside when you run it and then you can smell the burning. I’m hoping it’s just a bit of excess machine grease or something from the factory that will burn off after some use. Will update this review after I use it for a while to see if it gets better. Other than that, it’s a great kit to get the impact driver, drill, two batteries and the sturdy carrying bag for under $150. I’m starting to think that the massive discount is because of some quality control issues with the impact driver, but it’s till a good deal regardless. Besides the smoke issue, the drill and driver both work great. I’ve done small projects around the house and they performed well. The light is also a nice touch to help you see what your drilling/driving. The ergonomics are also good. It’s nice that it’s a bit lighter but it doesn’t sacrifice feeling sturdy in the process. So it balances comfort with confidence in its durability. Once I’ve used both the drill and driver a bit more, I’ll come back and update the review. Til then, I’m not upset that I bought it (even with the smoking issue). Update: I’ve been using the impact driver quite a bit recently and can say that the burning smell does not entirely go away, though it doesn’t smoke at all and it doesn’t smell as bad as it did at the beginning. The driver itself works great though so I’m bumping this up a star. If I were to do it again, I would have just paid the extra to get the brushless driver, but given I’m using this for DIY once in a while and am not doing daily jobs, I’m fine with it since it works great. I also got a cheap 6.0Ah battery that fits Dewalt 20v tools and the power I get out of it is good enough to do pretty much anything I’d ever need to do around the house. ... show more

Simply put, these to go on sale on Amazon. Stick them in your cart and then save for later. You'll know when it happens - it is about 53% off. With two batteries included and the charger? You're basically getting the tools themselves for free. Already I have used the impact to install a water pump, and the drill to hang shelving, install a code compliant roof dryer vent, and hang fence panels on posts. Boy is it great not to fight a cord! If you can save money doing even a handful of things yourself, you've paid these tools off in sweat equity vs calling a handyman. I even bought a dewalt to power wheels battery converter so my kiddo can use these batteries when I am not. These REALLY help with arthritis pain too. It sounds silly, but I just helped build a crib that you would normally use the included Allen key with. I can't really do that anymore with mild joint pain, nor do I want to. But having these tools handy made short work of a maddening project. These make fantastic gifts too. ... show more

These things are bulletproof. The impact driver has the power to drive 3/8 lag screws into drywall and studs. It has a small profile and can get into tight places. The drill is powerfull and can stick a hole saw through some light steel. Both keep a charge for weeks with light usage and charge quickly.
