    • Mixed bag, but would buy again.
Let me start by saying the PDC is an amazing product by itself, an absolute 5 star gem, and worth every penny. There are plenty of reviews on the PDC, if you are on the fence, Google it. With that said, the TID18 is just ok. Usually when you buy festool, you can expect an industry first, or at minimum an advancement on an older tech that separates the mighty green from the rest of the pack...but the TID doesn't. It just kind of sits there in the middle with the likes of Makita, Dewalt, and Milwaukee...nothing special about...it doesn't take centrotec, it isn't any more powerful, nor is it quieter, it's not more compact, and it doesn't appear to be any more rugged...it's just ok...and that is not OK for a festool product. If you are already heavily invested into the festool battery line, then it may make sense to pick up a TID to avoid battery bulk in your kit...but the Makita oil impulse is a better bet for an impact with actual innovation, as the oil based drive won't destroy your ear drums when used in tight spaces, and has a nifty glow ring. 5/5 for the PDC, 3/5 for the TID, 4/5 for the package. A little annoyed that there was no centrotec driver included in this package for the PDC. ... show more
