We all kmow that Omega-3s can boost heart health and lower triglycerides. And there are studies showing that omega-3 fatty acids may help with other conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, depression, asthma and more. Omega-3s are thought to play an important role in reducing inflammation throughout the body -- in the blood vessels, the joints, and elsewhere. That's what I notice when I take this product. I've been taking DEVA algae pills for over a year now and when I forget to take it I feel stiffer, achier. This may sound silly, but it's true. I just start to feel old and creaky. Then I get back on my routine of taking my DEVA algae pills and within a day my joints feel lubricated again. Kind of like how a car engine needs oil to lubricate the parts, this is my engine oil. :) If you have food sensitivities, rest easy. This product is free from GMO's, yeast, wheat, glujten, hexane, dairy, egg, salt, sugar or preservatives. If you are vegan for ethical reasons, you will be happy to know this product contains no animal products or derivatives. It is certified vegan by the Vegan Society. What I like about these pills is they are derived from microalgae grown under sanitary menufacturing conditions. It is free of ocean-borne contaminants like mercury and dioxin. I tell my friends who take fish oil pills, "Where do you think the fish get their Omega-3's? From the algae they eat!"     • Good to have vegan options for EFA's
As a vegan, it's difficult to find products that align with my moral values. It's also difficult to get adequate amounts of Omega3's from food sources, since supposedly the body can only convert about 20% of ALA consumed to the useful EPA and DHA. So, it's important for me to have a supplemental form. Not only is a vegan Omega3 supplement hard to find, it can also be expensive. This product is very affordable and accessible. It has no aftertaste (many people have claimed other products have horrible tastes). Although the FDA does not approve these claims, omega3's are vital for nervous system function, cardiovascular health, inflammation reduction, healthy sleep cycles, and healthy skin and tissues. These are very easy to take - no strange smell. While I feel the liquid options like Deva provide more value, these are convenient and taste neutral. Deva can be somewhat gross to consume.
