Description

Detroit: Become Human is the latest title in development by Quantic Dream and expands on the studio’s legacy of gripping narrative driven experiences (Fahrenheit/Heavy Rain/ Beyond: Two Souls). Throughout the game, players will co-write the story through the actions of several protagonists in an ambitiously bending and thrilling narrative. Detroit: Become Human is set in Detroit City during the year 2038 after the city has been revitalized by the invention and introduction of Androids into everyday life. But when Androids start behaving as if they are alive, events begin to spin out of control. As the player, you will embody several characters, amongst which KARA, CONNOR, and MARKUS. AsKara, you will witness your brave new world turn to chaos as you take on the role of a female service android trying to find her own place in a turbulent social landscape. Whilst you shape the branching narrative as Connor, an Android Cop employed by the human police force to seek out deviant Android such as Markus, a leader of the android group seeking freedom for his people, you will be making choices that will not only determine your own fate, but that of the entire city and possibly beyond. Discover what it really means to be human in a powerfully emotional journey made of choice and consequences.

  • Really Loved This Game
Platform For Display: PlayStation 4 Edition: Standard
Have enjoyed the games of Quantic Dream and David Cage, (Heavy Rain, Beyond Two Souls), but feel things really came together on this one. Not every game needs to be a first-person shooter, not every game needs to a RPG. There is room for many types. Despite many reviews marking this down due to its choose your path nature, that is what David Cage and his talented team at Quantic Dream do and do extremely well. An amazing and deep storyline told with finesse and emotion, presented with outstanding visuals. All the actors in the game are wonderful. Found myself concerned for the outcome of each character in the game. Purchased this game at release, but only had time to play / finish it recently. Although it's been weeks since I finished it, still thinking about it. Really great game. ... show more

  • Floored....and then blown away
Platform For Display: PlayStation 4 Edition: Standard
I love story-based games. I live for them! This game is at the pinnacle of storytelling. I’ve never felt so much pressure to make choices in a game before. The outcomes are always beyond your comprehension. I cannot wait to play through it again and make completely different choices to see how things pan out! Graphics are super intense, especially if you have a 4K tv and a pro! The gameplay is a little confusing at times, but it’s not so bad to become a turn off. Sometimes the camera angles can be frustrating, but again not so bad. If story is your forte, then you would be doing yourself a great disservice by not buying this game! ... show more

  • Great game with amazing graphics
Platform For Display: PlayStation 4 Edition: Standard
The media could not be loaded. As you can see in the video I provided above, this game has crazy realistic graphics! Also, there are so many choices for you to make, it feels like you are never completely finished with the game (there are so many endings and possibilities). Loading screens? where? because the loading time for the game is that fast. Every storyline you choose is extremely entertaining! I didn't hear much of anything about this game before I bought it, but I am so glad I did because I have been playing it non-stop since thanksgiving. ... show more

  • Awesome interactive movie w/ MANY branching paths
Platform For Display: PlayStation 4 Edition: Standard
So this is one of those games that fits into the "love it or hate it" category. If there's one thing that Quantic Dream does well it's making interactive movies with a strong narrative focus. I would say this is their best, and most innovative game yet. They push the boundaries of choice/consequence in games and by the end you really feel as though the decisions you made had an impact on the overall story. I will say that this game makes none to subtle nods to racism and civil rights and it can feel a bit ham-fisted at times (like androids being forced to ride at the back of the bus) but I found the story to be engaging and entertaining as long as you don't expect groundbreaking and thoughtful social commentary from this game. It's fun, the graphics, environments & facial animations are nothing short of exceptional and the characters are well realized, esp Conner and Hank and their excellent story/chemistry. If you enjoyed Heavy Rain or Beyond Two Souls or you like the Telltale games or similar narrative focused titles like Until Dawn or Life is Strange, then I feel confident saying that you will thoroughly enjoy this game. One really innovative feature is the "flowchart" which keeps track of all the choices you made and shows them in a chart along with all the branching paths and "nodes" that you unlock as you make different choices. You have the ability to go back to play any chapter so you can make different choices to see how it plays out. Which is great so you don't have to start the game over just to try out different decisions. It's really a daunting task that Quantic Dream was able to put this many decisions into the game and still have a coherent story. I think I read that there were over 1,000 pages of dialogue in the game, while a typical movie has about 50-100 max. Overall I'd say this was a very enjoyable experience that I would recommend to anyone who's a fan of the genre. As long as you take it for what it is and don't expect some profound new take on the "android with a soul" plotline it's great fun. Definitely better than the previous 2 games from QD imo. Give it a try, you might love it. ... show more

  • THE BEST GAME I’VE PLAYED IN YEARS
Platform For Display: PlayStation 4 Edition: Standard
Now when I saw I love this game, I totally mean. I mean I literally bought a PS4 system just to buy this game, after watching a favorite YouTuber of mine doing a game play. I was hooked instantly! You really get into the game and care not only about the main three: Kara, Conner, and Markus, but also the supporting characters who come and go. I think this game has a lot of parallels to world today and the view points of those who play and make certain decisions. I mean one choice could change the entire ending and it just leaves me coming back for more. The first time I played for seven hours straight before realizing it!!! I’m now on my second game play! You gotta buy it!!!! ... show more

  • GET THIS GAME
Platform For Display: PlayStation 4 Edition: Standard
Me and my sister played it together, splitting the characters between us. She played Connor and the majority of Markus, and I played Kara and helped with Markus decisions. It made it a little awkward when it jumped really quickly between characters, like during action scenes, but that was part of the fun. It's rare that a "decision-based game" is really, actually decision-based. Like it's incredible how so small a detail can play a huge impact later on in the game. And I loved it. It makes you think. It makes you sit there and agonize over your choices (I was really glad I could actually pause during the games), weigh the pros and cons of each choice, and you just sit there, terrified, on the edge of your seat while you watch and see how your decisions play out. There's so many different outcomes, no one gets the same ending twice. I would highly, highly recommend this game. If you don't already have this game, GET IT, you won't be sorry. ... show more
