  • Great peace of mind!
Color: White
Even for washes where the car may still be relatively clean, this grit guard gives you the peace of mind that contaminants will go to the bottom of the bucket and stay there. Even with this in palcve I still highly recommend utilizing the two bucket wash method.

  • Great guard
Color: Black
I really like this guard. It fits my buckets very well. I didn’t need the rubber leg cover so I took them off and it fits so good. I upgraded all my buckets and am very happy.

  • Absolutely what you're looking for
Color: Red
I have been hand detailing my vehicle for over 10yrs. Including clay barring, paint correction, and ceramic coatings. I have tried other basic grit guards. I have tried other pricey grit guards. Nothing compares. These go into a wider variety of buckets better. These stay in the bucket while you're washing better. These trap dirt better. These are easier to remove and clean. What more could you ask for? If you found these before wasting a bunch of money on something else, consider yourself lucky. If you're new to detailing and not sure whether you need this, I'd encourage you to Google "2 bucket car wash method" ... show more

  • Great product, sturdy and well built.
Color: White
The only thing I see an issue with is bucket size fitment. I have two white ace hardware buckets that I use, this is very tight fitting in the bottom but its not a huge deal. Filling the bucket with very hot water allowed it to go all the way down to the bottom. One thing I really like over standard grit guards is that this one sits much lower, when doing rinseless washes it really helps when you're only using 2 1/2 gallons of water. I feel by sitting lower it allows me to dunk much easier and get the sponge/mitt wet without worrying that the mitt wasn't fully submerged. ... show more

  • The only bit of their whole otherwise useless line up that works Save money & just buy this only.
Color: Black
Title sums it up perfectly this bit of kit works really well but the rest is useless. I do think they make the best grit guards and I love their trying to innovate in that space but I had issues using their other products and the only one i feel is really worth the pricing is this one.

  • Does the job
Color: Red
Only one issue I had with this item - at least once while using it, it would float to the top and I'll have to push it back down to the bottom of the bucket - strange because it supposed to fit buckets of different sizes.

  • Better than CG cyclone by a smidge.
Honest review of the Dirt Lock (DL) in Blue. The 4 legs are not bent in or out. They are straight. However it had some plastic stretch marks probably from manufacturing or maybe dings from shipping and handling. Doesn't seem like it's going to effect durability...just aesthetics. Came with the sliding Rubber holders (slides up and down on the legs)...works well to secure it to the bottom of the bucket. Fits the Home Depot Homer orange bucket all the way to the bottom snug. Fill the bucket with water to get it down there easier. It's snug enough it doesn't float up at all during use. I'm able to lift it out, with the 3 lift points in the middle, I'm not a body builder so the avg Joe should be able to get it out without tools. Now the question everyone is probably wondering...How is the performance compared to the Chemical Guys Cyclone. The DL is a smidge better than the Cyclone. Only because The DL has less horizontal flat spots where dirt can settle on top than the Cyclone. Both keep the dirt under the guard from coming up about the same. For the most part...the Dirt and grime fell below the DL; however, there are some particles in the water above the DL. Some of the particles sank to the bottom eventually after 30 mins. you can wait or just keep washing. There is no way to pump your mitt up and down and get everything below the guard...only way would be if you have a circular mitt slightly bigger than the bucket to ensure the particles don't escape to the sides and up. Do not buy this or any dirt guard if you think the water is going to be crystal clear above the guard like in the videos online. would be nice if there was a bucket that pumps water through a hole and out another hole and a filter of some sort in between to catch everything...would keep water cleaner. :) but until that comes out this will have to do. Hope this helps fellow Amazoners. ... show more

  • It's a good idea and seems to keep the dirt below.
I was able to fit this into an orange Home Depot bucket, but it's a really snug fit. Loop some nylon wire ties around the fins so that you have something to pull on to remove it. Otherwise it'll get stuck in the bottom of the bucket. It's a good idea, and gives you an elevated area to rest your sponge a few inches away from the dirt and grime that settles towards the bottom of the wash water. I still wouldn't agitate the water too much as some of the dirt could come upwards. It's a little pricey especially if you use two buckets and decide to get two. ... show more
