I tried spraying water full force at these at the top and then at the bottom, and it was easy to see how much the top lets through but the bottom doesn't. These are a great design and actually do trap dirt. They're awkward to pull out of your bucket, however, as the finger grips are tiny and the the solid design means the traps really stick tight to the edges. ... show more

I've struggled for a year trying to keep Chemicals Guys' grit guard in their branded buckets for a year, and I finally had to trash them and go for these Detail Guardz, which were recommended by Pan the Organizer on YouTube. They truly are the BEST because the rubberized clips on the bottom hold them in place inside the buckets of water or solution. I won't buy anything else from now on! ... show more

The only thing I see an issue with is bucket size fitment. I have two white ace hardware buckets that I use, this is very tight fitting in the bottom but its not a huge deal. Filling the bucket with very hot water allowed it to go all the way down to the bottom. One thing I really like over standard grit guards is that this one sits much lower, when doing rinseless washes it really helps when you're only using 2 1/2 gallons of water. I feel by sitting lower it allows me to dunk much easier and get the sponge/mitt wet without worrying that the mitt wasn't fully submerged. ... show more
