When I first got this, it worked well to clear steam and smoke from cooking. But after a couple of months, it just quit turning on. I only used it about ten times total. It also will topple over easily, as it is top heavy for the tripod and cannot be adjusted very well.

Our motorized downdraft fan for our induction cooktop died and the repair man said it was not worth fixing. After being without a fan for many years we needed something to serve as an exhaust fan to try to prevent the grease buildup on anything behind our cooktop. So far this has been an excellent solution and helps with smells and steam. I appreciate that it came with replacement filters as we can see from the current filter that it is working. The media could not be loaded. We purchased this for our KBBQ dinner at home, and it made a huge difference! We used a Thai style charcoal (indoors), and set the desktop hood right over it. The setting we chose was the third one: maximum power. The desktop hood came with four filters and cord (you will need a charger block if you are using an outlet)… make sure the block you use has the capacity for the same power required.
