I remember paying $35 for a dongle type camera with awful app compatibility that was required for use. For not much more money i can now get a built-in screen with a nice semi-rigid cable that has better resolution? Count me in. When the unit arrived, it's clear the manual was written by someone who is not a primary english speaker, but other than a few translation issues, it's a workable instruction set and a capable camera. I can't speak to the longevity yet, but the case it comes in is super nice for the dollars spent. Overall, quite happy given that i don't need to use this daily. This borescope was my second favorite borescope of all 30 I tested. I highly recommend this borescope if it's within your budget and you are ok with a 5 inch screen. It takes beautiful close up pictures and provides great light from the tip of the camera. Only reason I choose to return it was because I ended up loving the 7 inch model the most. I have a maintenance schedule coming up for changing out the spark plugs. I thought why not use these to check on them? It comes with a powerful set of LED lights that accompany each of the three available camera lenses in the 16.5' cable. They're extremely bright, capable of illuminating pitch black passages of any nook and crannies that need to be traversed. The cables are stiff, but flexible so you can even bend them to any direction of your choosing and it will stay erect in that orientation until you straighten back out. The main device boasts a 5'' IPS display that surprisingly has a wide gamut of available colors. I'm not sure the display itself is 1080p but all three cameras are, at least according to the accompanying specs sheet included in the package. You'll find that the device has 2 USB-C ports, one to insert the optics cable, and the other for charging and data to transfer the contents of the SD card via USB connection. Furthermore, it comes with a 32GB SD card so you can take pictures pretty much on a whim and not worry about running out of memory on a job. The device is incredibly easy to use with intuitive UI coupled with well-labeled buttons. You can almost do without consulting the manual to use it pretty much out of the box. But what's nice is that you can always browse the manual as it's also stored as an option that can be chosen at any time for viewing on the screen itself in case you've lost its printed counterpart. It has both a mic and a speaker built in for taking 1080p videos to record your findings on top of simply taking pictures. But you do need to speak into the built-in mic of the device for clarity. It's a tiny hole labeled as "mic" just below the screen. I also tested this device to see if I had any cavities in my mouth. While I walked away with the knowledge that I did not, it was a rather uncomfortable experience to see the innards of my mouth from that kind of perspective. I guess the moral of the story is that the camera works quite well in even the most unorthodox environment and to visit your dentist regularly. To close, this is a very capable borescope device capable of taking pictures and even videos on the fly. It suffers from virtually no latency issues so no delays whatsoever when you're discounting the few seconds it takes to change cameras but that's to be expected. That said, I deducted a point for two reasons. First, the length of the cable is quite short for such a device. I think it's worth nothing now that there are devices that are 30' or even 50' in length for practically the same price point. Secondly, there's no option to view the pictures or footages you've just taken on the device itself. It's a bit disappointing but you still need to connect it to another device to be able to send it as an email attachment or upload it into a cloud so I guess I'll just have to review it then. 4 out of 5 stars. ... show more

I always wanted something like this for various projects, usually the quality was junk, this tool has adjustable light, adjustable lens, quality of screen is great, if you want a simple, high quality bore scope, I’d highly recommend this unit. No downside.
