I love these for nesting boxes, they don't have those pokey spikes like other plastic and rubber ones do that make it uncomfortable for the birds to lay on, they don't have fake grass that the chickens may eat, nor the long fibers that some are made up with, that some people's birds have eaten and become impacted. They fit perfectly in my nesting boxes, but can be cut down to size if need be. They are made of a soft, but (so far) durable rubber and easily washed, unless you've got dried on egg yolk, that stuff is near impossible to wash off on everything, not just this. But a soak in hot water, scrub, another soak and scrub, and it will come off. I've had them for a year now and have not seen any signs of wear or tear yet. I like the look of the fake green grass pads, but the thought of trying to clean broken eggs out of the "grass" (from a soft-shelled egg or other potential issue) was enough to have me trying these. ... show more

These are okay to clean, hose off, but poop still sticks to them. You have to scrub them. Birds still somehow get poop under them as well. I bought these for easy clean up and to prevent eggs from breaking when being laid… however I still have at least one or two broken eggs a day. These do not provide any cushion in the nesting boxes as they are really thin. Yes, all birds are on layer feed and oyster shell.. not sure if it’s user error or my birds are just very clumsy. I would probably get ones with bristles next time for extra shock absorbency ... show more

I love them, but my chickens don't. Easy to clean. Soft concentric circles to protect the eggs. But my chickens won't nest on them. I suppose if I had used these from the start....
