I was in the market for a new guitar to travel with. I am retired and frequently take road trips and travel abroad. I always take a guitar with me! Through the years, I have struggled to find a guitar to travel with that really sounded like a guitar. I do have the travel Martin guitar and it sounds fine when plugged in but sounds like a tinny ukulele when played acoustically (but good to practice on) and awkward to hold while playing. In short, I abandoned it and instead brought a bulky full-size guitar (always a challenge when flying). I looked at and tried out many guitars to use while traveling. While on a recent road-trip to New Mexico, I discovered Klos. A guitarist at a winery was playing one and it sounded fantastic!!! I chatted with him and discovered that it was now his guitar of choice. On my return, I did my homework and watched numerous reviews of the guitar (all positive). They were RIGHT! This guitar is fantastic and PERFECT for travel. I opened the box (LIKE CHRISTMAS MORNING) and found it simple to assemble. The fingering and sound are GREAT! I took the guitar to my music room and plugged it into my amp and it sounded fantastic! The guitar is beautiful and I have finally located my new "travel friend" (although I am still taking my wife).     • Mind was blown
I was skeptical- bought this as a big birthday present for a dear friend. As a mando player I was impressed by the tone and sustain. Since my skills aren’t with guitars I had a friend who is an accomplished player check it out. They were equally impressed and approved my purchase.

    • Frustrating, but Fantastic!

I ended up buying the KLOS Hybrid acoustic electric after much consideration. My frustration came in when the guitar arrived and I couldn't find the bolts to install the neck, the saddle was missing and it was late Friday night and I couldn't talk to anyone until Monday. I finally found the pieces (except for the saddle) so, though almost put together, I couldn't finish it and had to take it to my luthier. My luthier was busy so it took a week. But, it was worth it. The action is fantastic and as good as my $2,000 Martin. There was no need to lower it or adjust the neck at all. Love It! ... show more

    • Fantastic quality in every regard, but bass strings don't resonate well
The Klos made-in-USA carbon fiber guitar is fun to play, with low action and frets cut with uncanny accuracy. Strings hold their tuned pitches very well, even with changes in elevation, temperature, and humidity. My only concern is with the provided and recommended D'Addario Coated Phosphor Bronze EXP26-3D strings: the trebles are very lively, but the bass strings feel dead, like an empty thud, in comparison. Hopefully different strings will solve this problem. In every other way I couldn't be happier. Everything that comes with the "deluxe" version - pack, capo, etc. is of excellent quality.     • This is not truly a full size guitar
I do a lot of traveling and in the past have done so with a composite acoustic Cargo. I also have two other carbon fiber guitars both also composite acoustics. Recent changes in airline carryon requirements got me nervous about not being able carry on my Cargo. Hence the Klos “full size” detachable neck guitar. I am a big guy and was excited that the guitar was full size, (I kinda look funny playing the Cargo.). I was somewhat disappointed with the klos guitar. Don’t get me wrong, it gets the job done, it just has many shortcomings. First, the neck is very narrow and the string spacing is tight. Makes it hard to play. Given the guitar is full size they really could have made the neck more “standard”. Second the balance and tone of the guitar was disappointing. Again it is acceptable but not great. Way to bright and not enough bass. The Cargo sounds much better and the full size CA’s blow it away. Third, the finish of the product is also just OK. If you rub a finger around the sound hole you will get cut. Lastly, the travel/gig back again is acceptable but could be better. It takes a lot of practice to get the guitar in the bag and to tuck in the unused neck portion. The multiple zippers are still very confusing (you need to see it to understand). There has to be a better solution. The bag could also be beefier. Again, the Klos full size detachable neck guitar gets the job done, but given all the rave reviews from customers and the Klos company I really expected it to be better. ... show more

    • The complete carbon fiber guitar package…
I did a lot of research to find the perfect carbon fiber guitar and I was not disappointed with this purchase. The carbon fiber is beautifully done, making me want to pick it up and play it. The tuners are smooth and tuning is easy. I have not used the Fishman pickup but it is nice to know I have the option to plug in. The fretboard is really nice and the guitar is super light too. It was nice that it comes with a capo to hold the strings, and the small screwdriver, in case you want to take the neck off to travel. Lastly, I also appreciated that it came with a bag, strap, and they even threw in a few picks. Klos you rock! ... show more

    • Surpasses all expectations!
I was skeptical at first, but clearly I made the right decision to go with the Klos full size carbon fiber guitar! First of all, I can attest that the reviews I read were accurate; however, in my case, I cannot find anything derogatory about my whole experience thus far. After only a few days of playing this guitary, I can honestly say that this is a love affair, and I know that I will be doing many special things with this guitar, but please keep your mind out of the gutter - this is totally platonic, or "play-tonic", as it were! The action is perfect, sounds great, and came nearly ready to play after quick assembly and tuning, which of course was very easy to do - even a caveman can do it (no offense to neanderthals - they are among us). I could have spent my money on any one of the cheaper alternatives, but I decided that the risk was not worth having the drawbacks of the other brands. Doubtless, this is truly among the most superior products in its class, and nearly flawless - I cannot point to anything I do not like about this guitar! Note to Klos: keep up the good work! You really struck a chord with this guitar, and you gained a fan for life! ... show more
