  • Very recommrnded
I really like this spool holder. I ordered two and have no regrets these are what I bought. Count your spools. You may be surprised by how many you have in your stash, as I was. It really is "plug and play". No tools required and no glue. Like others have said, putting the cross pieces on requires some considerable hand strength. Hubby did one for me. I did the other by squeezing the pieces together with a good pliers which worked well. I don't think I would want them too easy to attach to each other. The holder would not be nearly as strong. After the cross pieces were attached, the spool holders went in very easily. The spool holders are all the same length, 4 inches. They easily hold a large cone spool. Or double-stacked regular spools. Or regular spools together with matching bobbins. This item does it all. It is all plastic but a very strong plastic. I believe it will last for many years. I did not want to put holes in my wall, so hung it with strategically placed heavy Command strips. Command strips worked like a charm. Hubby questioned my method as being strong enough to hold but could not tease it loose. (Score one for the Wife! ) :-) I have no problem recommending this product. It looks nice, organized perfectly, is strong, and I am glad I got them. I found other spool holders online for less money, but this was the only white one and I wanted it to match my wall. I also thought the wood holders might be more flimsy and break too easily. I'm glad I made that choice. Recommended ! ... show more

  • Perfect for My Thread!
It was extremely hard to snap together. I had to get my husband and he had to use pliers. Once he figured out the best way to apply the pressure they all came together just fine. I ordered 10 and 2 of them were just a bit different, but not a deal breaker. Attaching them to the wall was easy and the fact that you can remove any posts to suit your particular situation is wonderful! I use Madeira threads and they fit just fine. I did put the bobbins under the thread spool because they had a tendency to fall off the top. My Smart Needle thread spools were a tad too fat, but I don't have a lot of them and keep them in a drawer so that's okay. Using the spool huggers are a great way to see the thread numbers. The small numbers on the spool were hard to read, so I wrote the numbers on the huggers with a sharpie and you can really see them. Overall, I am extremely pleased with the racks! ... show more

  • Love this product! 2 of these have solved my thread storage struggles...
I have a moderate amount of thread. I have 142 spools of thread. Roughly 60 Coats & Clark thread, then Aurifil and Connecting Threads thread for quilt piecing, followed by Isacord Polyester Thread for FMQing. (free motion quilting). All of these are different sizes. Yet, I am able to easily fit ALL of these on the TWO thread stands. The pegs are 3 1/2" long, so I am to EASILY put TWO Coats & Clark threads on one peg, and also am able to put the bobbins with the thread if necessary. I had tried plastic thread cases, but they take up SOOO much room, and you are constantly searching for the right brand and then color for the job. Now I just have to glance up on my wall and choose the right thread! I am VERY pleased with this purchase! Oh, and others did mention that this was difficult to snap together, my hubby had no issues with it and had both of them together in under 10 minutes. So, since I didn't try doing it myself, I can't comment on if it would be hard for people (like me) with less strength, although it didn't look like my hubby was straining or anything to get these together. Oh, and DON'T lose one of the pegs....they only give you 60 pegs for each thread stand. Not even 1 extra! LOL. ... show more

  • Nice, sturdy product.
The plastic is thick enough that it isn't flimsy, though the "shelves" and posts bend easily enough. However, it's just for thread spools which aren't heavy. The previous wooden rack we bought was made from rough wood and was so terrible it got thrown out before it was used. The only thing to be aware of is that most of the plastic posts are pretty hard to insert. So first you have to be careful you don't break them. I ended up using pliers around the base of most posts and a wooden block behind the horizontal bar. If I had to do it over again, I'd assemble it exactly in reverse order from the instructions. Install the posts in the horizontal bars first so you can easily rest the shelves on a solid surface. >>Then<< attach the "shelves" to the sides. ... show more

  • Loving these racks!
I’ve been looking for something to organize my threads for wool appliqué. These racks are perfect. Decided to mount on pegboard so I could utilize the extra space for rulers and other notions. Very pleased with the results and highly recommend. The comments to use pliers when assembling the racks was a life saver. ... show more

  • Fantastic!
This is just what I needed to tame my menagerie of threads. I have a number of different machines that take different threads so this was perfect for sorting them. Larger cones, you'll need to skip a pin between but if you're really tight for space you can turn the cone upside down. For my normal threads and my small embroidery threads, I found the pins long enough that I can put a bobbin on the end of it to keep them together. On larger spools, where there wasn't enough room to put two spools next to each other, I just put the bobbins inbetween. These were not hard to plug the pins in. There were a couple pins that had a little extra flashing and, if i'd cared, I could have removed the flashing with a hobby knife and they would have snapped right into place. ... show more
